31  quilted lil froggie change purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by AliBeachGrl on: June 22, 2006 04:05:26 PM
I made this lil change purse for the One Tiny Thing 7 Swap, but I had to share.  My partner liked browns & blues & greens & cute Hello Kitty animals & wanted something functional.  Oh & SF are her initals.  So this is what I made for her.

I quilted the fabrics together & then added the appilque.  I used Shrinky Dinks to make the frog charm (I always forget his name!) & attached it & a cute silver charm that says follow your dreams to the zipper using jump rings.

It was the most detailed lil bag I have made & certainly the most personalzed.  I'm pretty proud.

YEAH!!  I got an exciting package in the mail today!

My partner is awesome!  I got a great necklace which I will be pimping everywhere I go.  Its a domino & I love it.  Even has some sparkly lil details on the edges.

 the goldfish is adorable.

Thanks so much.  The card says it all  "MIGHTY NICE!"

33  Juicy summer travel bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by AliBeachGrl on: June 20, 2006 05:48:25 PM
So I found this fabric in my mom's stash last time I was at her place & just had to put the two together.  I ended up thinking, summer.... travel... why not?

So here is the outside.  Perfect size for all the necessary junk, toothbrush, de-od, etc.

& of course when you unzip it......

ha ha.   The summer time fun of a crafty smart arse.

34  my purple distraction...AKA first "purse" bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by AliBeachGrl on: June 06, 2006 04:30:14 PM
So I've been trying to escape my life lately & distract myself positively....well this is what happens. Its like this is my insanity, just add water (it was raining like crazy today!  even had hail in the thunderstorm)

This is by far the toughest thing I have done I think.  I have never made anything with interfacing.  I varied from the actually pattern (it was a basic bag that came with a dress pattern, doubt I'll ever do the dress) but I added pockets- one big one on the outside & three on the inside.

So here it is... mad multiple mistakes & all...
the befores...

I just love that purple fabric!
& the after!

inside....

iPod/cellphone pocket?

perfect for tube of lip gloss or pens.. & a small one for protection...(hm cash or condom?)

I'm thinking of adding something to the front.  Like maybe a skull crossbones type shadown in the in purple fabric on the pink pocket?  applique.  Who knows.  Guess I'll just keep it as is & upgrade it as I go.  Any ideas?
So what do you think?  Feedback would be awesome!   Cheesy  Thanks!

35  Gift for a friend:BLack & White anything bags & relaxtion herbal bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by AliBeachGrl on: May 29, 2006 06:42:14 PM
I made these for a gift to give one of my friends who I know is traveling soon & is stressed out.  I quilted the two fabrics together then added the zippers.  On the big one I stitched up one side normally, then turned it to stitch it the other way so it makes a triangle shape to the bag. Great to hold cosmetics & stuff that isn't flat like hair brushes, etc.  Then I made the smaller bag to match & the herbal stress eye pillow which I stuffed with Buckwheat, lavender flowers, & some crushed spearmint leaf.  She can heat it in the micro or freeze it depending on what she needs.
