1  Re: Project Linus Blanket-Along 12 in 2010! in Craftalongs by AliBeachGrl on: January 20, 2010 07:11:19 AM
I am so glad to see this group on here!  I just joined Project Linus & attended my first meeting last night where I made a fleece blanket.  I just did the one layered tied fringe style.   It was a lot of fun & very rewarding.  Wish I had gotten a picture of the finished project but I did snap a picture of the fleece!

4  new office with personality in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by AliBeachGrl on: July 11, 2007 09:53:25 AM
So we relocated offices at work & I FINALLY got my own!

Trouble is the walls were BARE & the budget for wall deco was zip zilch nada.... so... craftiness time.

I saw somewhere online (I'll add the link later to give the credit where its due!) to a project where some wonderful diva had taken foam board & covered them with fabric to make wall art.  Sounded AWESOME!  I have boocous of fabric in the stash & lil cash in the wallet so it was perfect.

The wall seems much cozier now!

Also had to add a touch of something to the wall directly behind me that you see as you walk in....

Cheap wooden stars from the sale section & some black paint... works for me!

I think its funny how everyone keeps coming it going ... THATS SO YOU!  Well duh.. its MY office finally isn't it?   Wink

5  Re: Lose this stupid weight swap! in The Swap Gallery by AliBeachGrl on: March 18, 2007 12:22:16 PM
yeah I might as well post pics of what I sent out too.  (Piratecore cute are what you eat book idea!)

I sent a motivation & progress photo book, exercise dice cube, a water bottle with special ice cube tray that makes cubes that actually fit in the bottle & a handmade holder that would fit most bottles.  Also a fitness coloring book I found that made me laugh.  The big piece was a handmade lunch bag.

You can almost see the lil bikers that are on the black interior fabic.

Oh & a pedometer to count the steps walked everyday.

Here is a close up of the water bottle holder.

Ok so PirateKisses wins the faster than lightening award!

She sent TWO pairs of earrings (a pair of cool Jones bottle cap ones with neat sayings & a pair with pretty purple & silver beads), a pouch for ONLY HEALTHY SNACKS, NO JUNK to remind me to eat right all the time, a tote bag to carry the health food, some crocheted (maybe knitting.. I can't tell the difference myself) wristbands & a lime green skirt that I promise not to wear while working out! Wink   Also came with a sweet peace card that I think she made as well.

THANKS!

Yours will be in the mail as soon as I can get over to the post.

So a couple of surprises were waiting on me when I got home from work today!  BOTH packages!

So from Kantha_Stich I got these..

I'm loving the yoga divas!  & that is half a yard!!! THANKS!

Then to top it off I got these from Ibmomof2...

wrapped so sweetly...

The blacks & whites may be perfect for a quilt I want to start with just black & white fabrics.  Plus I adore the purple moons among the stars!!! THANK YOU!!!

You both are really sweet!  Now I just hope you enjoy what I sent to you....

8  Re: A Bag a Month Craftalong? in Craftalongs by AliBeachGrl on: February 12, 2007 07:55:44 PM
Very cute bag GirlyGirl!

I made one that I posted in the Color-craft-a-long (since its Red & thats the color of the month there) thread but wanted to post here too.

Its the LazyGirlDesigns Runaround design in some red fabric I had lying around.  Perfect for this week & my coworkers loved it today at work.

top is glittery!

bottom back pocket is a red rose fabric.

Super easy to understand instructions.  Might have to make a few more soon.  Hopefully I can try another pattern for a bag before it the month is over.   Feel like I am cheating posting in two threads...

9  Re: 2007 Color Craft-A-Long in Craftalongs by AliBeachGrl on: February 11, 2007 01:03:10 PM
So here is my Valentine's bag.

I made the LazyGirls Runaround Bag.  Had the pattern sitting around & had never tried it, so I thought why not use the random red fabric I had & piece together something to give myself for Valentines.  Plus I love the glitterness of the top part.

The back side pocket is red roses.

Anyway thats red for me.

Definetly wouldn't have thought of it without the Color-a-long motivation of this craft-a-long!  Thanks.

I made this one to give a friend for her birthday & also as part of the things I was working on for the Color Craftalong.

Got me over my crafter's block & back on the machine.

I gave her a hand painted champagne glass inside of it for her 21st birthday if that gives you an idea of the size.  Felt it was a better idea than just to use a gift bag.  Protected the glass better anyway!
