1  Red & Blue Asian-themed Doll Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by Fortune_32 on: May 31, 2007 01:04:06 PM

Seeing as I already spilled the beans on this one, I thought I'd share it here, too! I made this doll quilt for KnitWit as part of our personal swap. It actually started it's life as 4 log cabin coasters, but when I saw she already had a set, I had to make it work! LOL Doll quilts seem to be all the rage lately, and it was this months(May07) Whiplash theme - so I figured they'd work perfectly. And, if I do say so myself, I think they do! LOL

I wanted to make it a little bigger, but I was very low on muslin scraps; so it is what it is, about 9 1/2" square. The square centers and the trim are recycled silk - they were a water stained blouse my Mom thrifted for me. I love re-using fabrics, and silk is one of my favorites! For more pictures of it, check out the Whiplash group over at Flickr.

Here's the backing, I got this fabric for a bag I'm making my sister, and I just LOVE it! I keep thinking of making little wooden Asian dolls because they're just so adorable! Thanks for looking, comments are always appreciated!

(Just for full disclosure's sake - I've entered it into the Whiplash contest this month, May 07. Even though there aren't any prizes, I still hope I win! LOL)

2  Blue Sky Alpacas Pleated Skirt - In Turquoise! in Knitting: Completed Projects by Fortune_32 on: May 23, 2007 12:01:04 PM

Ok..... so does half-completed count? LOL

I'm just so proud, cuz it only took me a little over a week, and I even added short-rows to it, so it wouldn't creep up (my butt, this is the back side.) Comments are always appreciated!

Thanks for looking!

3  Re: YARN DYEING 101 - KOOL AID in Dyeing: Completed Projects by Fortune_32 on: April 18, 2007 07:21:16 AM
I totally love all of the easter egg dyed brights around here! I was kinda surprised though, when a few people mentioned they weren't having luck with dyeing bright colors with Kool-Aid. So, I thought I'd share the fun I've had lately!

These were all dyed with Kool-Aid, over the last couple weeks. I was using much smaller yarn amounts, maybe that's why I got really nice saturated colors. Most of these 1oz skeins were dyed with a full packet of Kool-Aid. Some were dyed with partial packets, and some were overdyed. See my blog for more details! Thanks for looking!

My Josie was so jealous of all the Rapunzel love going on around here, that she had to join the fun! LOL

It's made from Classic Elite Premiere, SWTC Bamboo, Malabrigo, and a novelty yarn I lost the band to!
Thanks for looking, comments always welcome!

7  Re: How's your Etsy shop doing now? in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by Fortune_32 on: March 29, 2007 04:15:43 PM
I just whipped up a new product for my store, and I'd really appreciate any feedback, but especially comments on pricing!!! Is 9.50$ too much for these (for each one, not all 3?) Not enough??? I just can't seem to decide if I got it right... Thanks!

I got a bunch of new tsumami kanzashi flower snap sets listed this week! I'm super excited because my samples are going out this month with The Sampler! The first set I listed sold within an hour! The newest 3 haven't gone that quick, but I'm still super proud!

I'd really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions!
