Seeing as I already spilled the beans on this one, I thought I'd share it here, too! I made this doll quilt for KnitWit as part of our personal swap. It actually started it's life as 4 log cabin coasters, but when I saw she already had a set, I had to make it work! LOL Doll quilts seem to be all the rage lately, and it was this months(May07) Whiplash theme - so I figured they'd work perfectly. And, if I do say so myself, I think they do! LOL
I wanted to make it a little bigger, but I was very low on muslin scraps; so it is what it is, about 9 1/2" square. The square centers and the trim are recycled silk - they were a water stained blouse my Mom thrifted for me. I love re-using fabrics, and silk is one of my favorites! For more pictures of it, check out the Whiplash group
over at Flickr.
Here's the backing, I got this fabric for a bag I'm making my sister, and I just LOVE it! I keep thinking of making little wooden Asian dolls because they're just so adorable! Thanks for looking, comments are always appreciated!
(Just for full disclosure's sake - I've entered it into the Whiplash
contest this month, May 07. Even though there aren't any prizes, I still hope I win! LOL)
