That looks awesome. I love the wings. Such pretty feathers.

Maybe there is hope then. There was a 3rd on in downtown Toronto. Maybe its still there. I just bought DMC floss for 89 cents a skien at the local ma and pa store. I was positive it was cheaper at Lewiscraft.

That sucks. Must be going out of business or something then. Sad

I've been to 2 malls this week. The Lewiscraft in one was having a store closing sale. No biggie, since I never shop at that location, but today the one at Yorkdale mall was gone!

Have they gone out of business or are they just pulling out of Toronto. Or is it just those 2 locations. Any other Canucks know?

All the other craft stores are very far from me and not on subways lines or they just suck. Walmart isn't all that great either.

Anyone know a good place for supplies in Toronto? Huh

Glad to be helpful. Smiley

That is a good idea, stitching for chairity. But since my sister in law's baby shower is comming up I am sure I'll find something to craft for her.

That is so cool!

I clicked around on your website too. Your artwork is amazing.

Yet another reason to get my husband to hook up the scanner. Oh joy!  Undecided I've had a drawing that I have been waiting to scan for months. But he hates it when I install new programs on his computer. It's the whole reason we have seperate computers now. (That and the fact that we don't always share well.)

I tried it with flash but it turned out worse. You can't see the colours at all. I will check the manual though and see if I can figure out how to fiddle with the shutter speed.

Thanks.

I know. My camera sucks for taking photos of anything to do with thread. I does take good animal photos though. I guess I have to be tankful for that, what with 5 guinea pigs and 2 cats running about Grin

It's about as big as the bottom of a small tea mug. Not all that big. I want to do a bigger one next project. It didn't take me all that long. A few evenings of working on it. It would have gone a ton quicker, but I wanted to do some satin stitch.

Hopefully my next project shows up better on 'film'. Any tips for taking pictures of embroidery?

I got a pattern for this piece here from this thread:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=11926.0
Though I must say I got the inspiration from this thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=79627.0

Here it is:

I am very proud of it. Much better then my first cross stitch, or my abysmal first sewing project. Grin

Now I just have to figure out what to do with the stuff I stitch. This one is done on my husband's old Boy Scout neckerchief. I might just end up with a house full of tea towels and hankies if I don't figure out something soon. Cheesy

I have been lurking on here for so long. It's nice to post something.
