11  Girly Room for my Little Girl in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Drea4545 on: February 22, 2007 08:05:20 AM
I am just about finished redecorating my 3-year-old's room.  It was basically just a beige room before we did it up.  She picked out the paint and bedding.  My Daughter and husband are both obsessed with sock monkeys!  I made the curtains and bedskirt, and framed sock monkey pictures from 2 different books.  I am still looking for a pretty area rug for in front of the armoire.  I will eventually hang something over the side of her bed too.  It is hard to get good pics- I really need a wide angle lens  , but you get the idea.

Thanks for looking!  Now I can work on the nursery and hopefully finish before our baby boy arrives in April!

OK, I finally have a pic of eloiseinmoscow's return card:

"The Pie Led To a Strange Waking Dream"
The pic doesn't do it justice.  We both had a little trouble with the pics because the card is shiny. There is a pie and a woman behind the clear/flowered covering.  Plus a little gem!  It is such a cool/surreal card- she did an awesome job with the stuff I sent!  Thanks so much Kathy!  Amazing work!!!!

It seems to be taking almost 2 weeks to receive from Canada lately.

I love all the cards - they are soooooo valentine-y  Grin.

Here is the one from princessof capri:
I forgot to take the clip off  Cheesy.  Oh, I guess that is a part of it! It is very adorable- wouldn't you say?  Thanks Jennalee!

15  Traditional to Modern Redo in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Drea4545 on: January 31, 2007 06:44:21 AM
OK, so here are a couple of pics of the redecorating we've done since moving in.  Our house was done up VERY traditional, which is NOT my style at all.  So the hubby and I have been tackling it one room at a time to put our signature style in this house and make it our home.  Here is the kitchen/eating area.  I have a before pic from when we looked at the house before we bought it, but it is from the opposite angle.  You get the idea though...

And here is the dining room.  The old chandelier was brass and very colonial, and the room was beige. We bought those incredible red suede chairs at a yard sale, if you can believe it!  I don't think they were ever used!

Thanks for looking.  We are pretty psyched about the changes we've made.  My daughter's room is next on the agenda.

OK, here is the cool stuff...

I love all the different language paper.  And there are these cool Asian images that I am psyched to use.  But the coolest part... eloiseinmoscow did a little research on me and figured out that I used to do brain research (EEGs and such) and that I love brain images- so I've got some excellent brain images and words to use!
Now the ATC- "Eat an apple a day"

Thanks eloiseinmoscow!  I love it all!  I'm looking through my ephemera and trying to decide what to make!  I can't wait for you to get my envelope... I hope you like it too!

17  Fun/Easy Potholders in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Drea4545 on: December 15, 2006 10:07:28 AM
I made these as Christmas gifts for 2 of my gal pals.  I whipped them up last night from scraps I'd been saving.
This one is for my friend who just got married...

And the second set...

They were so easy to make.  I just made a square pattern with rounded edges.  The tops are cotton material, backed with 2 layers of thick felt and bound with contrasting bias tape.  Tell me your thoughts on these...

18  Re: Dollar Store Swap (round 3) in The Swap Gallery by Drea4545 on: December 14, 2006 11:31:09 AM
Here are the GREAT goodies that retro-redux sent me!
First, the whole kit and kaboodle...

Now, Sigmund... the well-loved sock monkey.  My daughter and husband are still deciding who gets to keep him.

Now, the fab sewing machine cover!  Retro-redux saw it on my WISTS and made me one that fits perfectly!  I ADORE it!!!!

And another close-up shot of the cool button jewelry that I've already worn twice... Grin

Thanks again Retro-redux!  I love everything!

19  Cheery Ruffled Apron in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Drea4545 on: December 07, 2006 07:55:28 AM
I just finished making this apron for my mom as a Christmas present.  She rarely asks for anything, so when she asked me if I could please make her a pretty apron for cooking, I set out on my mission!  My mom loves to cook and entertain, and I wanted to make her something she would love to wear while cooking and visiting with guests at the same time.

Her request was that it not tie at the neck.  So here it is...

And here I am modeling it... please excuse the pregnant belly.  The apron should lay better on my mom...

Comments and questions are welcome  Grin.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out and I think Mom will be pleased.
