1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Mr. Knitty!! (img heavy) on: August 19, 2007 12:45:17 PM
Okay, so a few years ago, I came across the idea of knitting a teddy bear stuffed animal. Once I finished him, I decided that the proper name for my first major stuffed animal would be "Mr.Knitty". Smiley

More pictures are on my blog. (see signature)
2  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Custom Knee Sock KAL on: June 02, 2007 11:19:01 AM
Okay, so I got this idea when I saw this: http://www.suzisknits.com/blog/april07.html

Then I remembered that I saved a website in my favorites folder called the "Sock Calculator" and I always wanted to use it. (http://www.panix.com/%7Eilaine/socks.html) What it is, is a website that you just plug in your guage, measurements and TADA!!! It gives you a step by step instructions that will make the perfect sock that fits you with the guage you want to use. So if anyone would like to join this, that would be amazing. : )

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / I need help! crochet rug problems on: January 04, 2007 06:15:03 PM
Okay, I have no idea if this is a possible fix, but my mom's mom made this rug and my mom LOVED it and one day during the washer and dryer it got these huge ripped holes. Are there any suggestions on how to fix it or what possible stitch was used so I can repair it or what? I need your expert advice.

7  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Watermelon Socks anyone? on: June 22, 2006 07:14:17 PM
Okay, this is my first KAL, so here it goes:

This sock is styled so it looks like a watermelon. I'm used the idea of the cheat sheet pattern from "Knitting Rules!" by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. (or any basic sock pattern)

Materials: set of 5 size 1 US (2.25mm) dpns
About 50 grams in Green and 50 grams in Pink
Small amount of black

Instructions:

CO 64 sts (divide evenly across 4 needles, should be about 16 per needle)

Work in rib pattern (K1, P1) for 3 rows (or more if you like, it doesn't really matter)

From this point, you can chose to make the leg of the sock or just make an ankle sock. For my own preference, I'm going to make an ankle sock.

Continue like a plain sock pattern until you get to the part of the sock right before the foot sections of the sock begines, switch to Pink and finish the rest of the sock like normal.

After both socks are completed, add french knots as an embellishment to symbolize the seeds of the watermelon.

I hope you enjoy this pattern. I will post a picture of my finished creation when I find the time to, well, finish it.

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / food knitting on: February 27, 2006 04:44:50 PM
does anyone know any good food knitting, such as knitting up a sandwich or cake? I've already looked up knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/food  and I was wondering if there were any other web site out there like that.
