GAH... I have a sock problem... I'm working on too many right now. I should be able to start the Pomatomus socks today or tomorrow. : ) I'm almost done with one of my other pairs.

What you could do is knit a guage swatch and match the guage swatch of the hat pattern and you could just follow the pattern from there.
35  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitworks mystery blanket on: May 29, 2007 04:25:09 PM
Hmmm, I tried googling it and I came up with http://knitworks.com/

The company could have changed their slogan over the years. On the web site they show a picture of a blanket and things of that sort. You could see if the blanket you got resembles any of the ones on the web site.
36  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: simply marilyn in the round? on: May 29, 2007 04:19:07 PM
I'm not exactly sure on how to make it in the round, but on an SnB calendar-a-day calendar, one said:

"What Goes Around Comes Around

Circular knitting ain't just for socks! Here are some tips for changing a sweater pattern from straight knitting to knitting in the round: Start with the front, casting on the total number of stitches minus 2, and place a stitch marker. Then cast on the tital number of stitches for the back minus two stitches, place another stitch marker, and join the round. This reduction of 4 stitches-one per side per piece-is what would have been taken up by the seams. Since you're knitting in the round, you won't need to make side seams (yay!), so you can lose those stitches. Knit this way till you get to the armholes (when you bind off for the armholes, remember that you have 2 fewer stitches on each side), then knit the top halves of the sweater back and forth in rows in the usual way."

I hope that helps.

What kind of yarn did people use? Just curious. I think I might make this and give it away as a Christmas present.
