1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Vintage Craft Projects / Re: Knitting, Crochet Patterns from 60's and 70's on: November 03, 2006 02:32:08 PM
I really wanted the  version with 1500 stitches but i ended up getting the version with 900 stitches for $4.24 on ebay. I really love the company that made that book. Mon Tricot rocks my face off especially the patterns they had in their magazines during the 70's.

yaaaay! i was all jealous of that 900 stitch dictionary. then on aussie ebay i found a reporinted one with 1500 stitches! mind, they made me pay *moans gently* well. it was $20.
but i work in a bookstore and haven't paid retail book prices in yeeeeears. but the 1500 stitch pattern book was out of print (though i forgot to search for an in print version).

I'm super excited about these kits Big Bird and Bert have never been opened.Oscar was opened but never used. The person balled a few skeins of yarn then gave up on the project. The yarn is really rough but I bought it more for the patterns and sense of nostalgia than anything else.I'm not really in crochet mode right now so I have a feeling these will join my stash until I get my knitting bug out. It seemed wrong having Bert without Ernie so I hunted him down.On my search for Ernie I found a website with the patterns for Oscar,Cookie Monster and Ernie.

I was thinking about making these to gift and maybe sell but I doubt kids would be intersted in a toy that doesn't do tricks. Oh well at least I'm amused by them. [/color]

9  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: KAL*Psychedelic Squares Afghan* KAL on: October 22, 2006 05:47:36 AM
I can't wait to start this but I'll have to wait until I finish my christmas knitting. I have a ton of yarn that I picked out so I have a feeling mine is going to be a supersized afghan. My color choices aren't as bright as I wanted but I have a ton of scrap yarn that needs to be used. I settled on shades of blue especially sky blue, maroon, lilac, and purple. The only thing is that I have a ton of maroon that I want to use up but I haven't decided how to intergrate it properly.

I really want that stitch dictionary. There is an updated version from the 70's that has the same stitches plus some.
