1  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / What are your favourite vegan cupcakes? on: July 18, 2008 02:16:46 AM
Last night I made the ‘Charming Chocolate Cupcakes’ from How it All Vegan (details, for those who want them, here) and they are quite yummy but I don’t want to get stuck in a cupcake rut.

What is your favourite recipe? Favourite icing? Favourite cute decorations? Favourite cook book?
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Boyfriend Shrine on: July 17, 2008 07:01:37 AM

I just moved in with my long distance boyfriend. This is what I used to use to remind myself what he looks like. All the elements in the shrine represent something from our first two weekends together. It’s all housed in a small jewellery box that ties shut with ribbon.

And no he doesn’t find it creepy.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Frog Shadowbox on: May 13, 2007 07:47:09 AM

I was inspired to make this shadow box after a trip to the amazing tropical house at Chester Zoo. It is my first shadow box and first project with my hot glue gun.

The frame is from a charity shop and I painted it black, the paper is from my stash and the frogs are from the zoo gift shop.

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / The Craftster Guide to Nifty, Thrifty, and Kitschy Crafts / Headband with love hearts and flowers and cute on: April 17, 2007 07:36:04 AM

I impulse bought this ribbon on my way through the market and bought the flowers in pathetic attempt to goth it up. The flowers fall just in front of my ears. I love this project, it took all of ten minutes and looks lovely.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Yeah, I made skirts on: April 16, 2007 01:26:01 PM
Skirts made with the aid of Yeah, I Made It Myself.

The drawstring one is made from a sheer black fabric with sequined flowers and stripes of... well I don't know the technical term but it looks kind of like tinsel. A bit. Anyway. To avoid the 'I can see your knickers' effect I gave it a purple bottom layer. I wish I could get a good shot of it twinkeling.

The second is made out of The Eternally Creased Cotton that came from a factory sale and is also a bag and a pile of scraps now. And ironed it, several times!

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Flowery Knitting Tote on: April 16, 2007 03:08:28 AM
I made this knitting tote from a few leftovers. I didn't have any stuff for a lining and I put the front pocket on, including the channels for the knitting needles, in the last second. That was fun. It first my big project and it was fun. It doesn't stand up on it's own but it isn't floppy as it's made from some pretty strong upholstery wight cotton I bought from a factory shop.
