1  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: What are your favourite vegan cupcakes? on: August 02, 2008 01:04:11 AM
I think I want to make those first! No pink though, purple iceing and green Pistachio on top. I'm getting more and more excited each time I see it in the book shop but I only found an extra 75p this week Sad

I'm saving up my tips (I'm a maid) and pocket change for a copy of VCTOTW. And will probably blow my actual wages on food colouring and sprinkles.

We thought the cupcakes tasted too molasses-y too. Problem with substituting is that you would need to tinker around with the amount of wet and dry stuff.

I found that funny, he tutted! And thanks for the congratulations it really is great.

I did reassure him several times over the phone that it was just like a picture frame and it's not like I worship it or anything. He may have been disappointed.

Last night I made the ‘Charming Chocolate Cupcakes’ from How it All Vegan (details, for those who want them, here) and they are quite yummy but I don’t want to get stuck in a cupcake rut.

What is your favourite recipe? Favourite icing? Favourite cute decorations? Favourite cook book?
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Boyfriend Shrine on: July 17, 2008 07:01:37 AM

I just moved in with my long distance boyfriend. This is what I used to use to remind myself what he looks like. All the elements in the shrine represent something from our first two weekends together. It’s all housed in a small jewellery box that ties shut with ribbon.

And no he doesn’t find it creepy.
6  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re: First Project Posted - First Teatowel - Pic Heavy on: June 22, 2008 03:51:00 AM
I love how the tea time bit is done in a delicate looking back stitch and the fruits are in the bold and organic looking chain stitch. The stitches and the designs are well matched. And it looks awesome.
7  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: How to get a picky guy to try vegetarian dishes? on: January 23, 2008 05:02:20 AM
Do things that are obviously full meals without meat. Like a cheese sauce on a pasta, or mac and cheese, or tomato lasagna. If you need to ease someone in I think the best way to do it is with dishes that arn't missing out from not haveing meat.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitty Winter 07 on: December 08, 2007 01:40:02 AM
I really do like some of the patterns but it felt a it repetitive to me. There really are a lot of socks!
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Re: Vintage Supplies Badly NEEDED! on: June 30, 2007 07:13:13 AM
Just looking round http://www.antiquebeadpeddler.com/ myself.
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Re: Stringers unite! on: June 30, 2007 03:41:04 AM
I am a stringer, simple stringing too.

I'd like to branch out but I think most of the time the beads speak for themselves and don't need me to mess with them.
