1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Winter Blues Swap Photos on: March 12, 2005 09:56:21 PM
Well, I couldn't find a gallery started for these and though it has been over for a while, I wanted you guys to see the fabulous box I got from princessandthebead.

The dragonfly is hanging in my window (as it snows outside tonight), the almonds have 'mysteriously' disappeared.  Hmmm!  And the "Salt" and "Bam" have already been put to good use.  Looks like I may be making soup tomorrow since we'll have snow on the ground and I can use some more.  This was one of the most awesome packages I have received.  Thank you so much.
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Unfinished Project Swap on: February 05, 2005 07:14:32 PM
So, I know I'm not the only one that started a project and never finished it.  I know, because I inherited a Lamb Chop puppet that my mother cut out close to 20 years ago, and it still sits cut apart somewhere in a bag somewhere in my house.

Is anyone interested in passing along something that was started and not finished?  You would, of course, have to include the instructions and/or pattern so the receiving person would have a chance of finishing it.

Your thoughts?
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Fabric Scrap Swap on: February 05, 2005 04:48:13 PM
Hi ladies!

I got both of my packages today.  I apologize, I don't know which package came from whom.  There wasn't a note in either one of them, but here are the pics.

Details of swap:  Each participant will be given the number of swappees that they request.  If you want to make 8 pair of earrings, ask for 8 partners.  Providing there are enough participants, you'll get the number you ask for.  It will then be your responsibility to mail to each of those swappees.

My original intent was only to have int'l swappers send to me, but I think it would be easier for everyone to swap more pairs if they sent them all to me.  It will also cut down on postage for everyone.

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Four Seasons Swap on: January 25, 2005 04:47:27 PM
Now, we just had an awesome Four Elements Swap.  Is anyone up for a Four Seasons Swap?
7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Recipe Swap: sign up by 04/20/05 , send by 05/5/05 on: August 07, 2004 08:54:57 PM
This swap will run for a year.  You ARE NOT obligated to participate every month.

Please pm me by the 20th of the month prior to the subject that you wish to participate.  That will give me time to put together everyone's names for a distribution list.

This is only swapped electronically.  You e-mail me that you'd like to participate and when the signups close, I will send out an e-mail to the group with the topic and reminder of the theme.  You simply 'Reply All', type in your recipe(s) and send.  I can't imagine it being any easier than that.

Here are the themes (you can pick one or one of each for each month):

May:  Cooking Light (get ready for bathing suit season)
June:  Salad/Vegetarian
July:  Backyard BBQ
August:  Brown Bag (Back to school)/Fun food fact

=========================================

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional):  not at this time

Non-U.S. participants allowed? yes for electronic re-distribution only

All ages allowed? Or 18+? absolutely

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders" list and will not allow those members to participate: not really applicable since there will be no financial commitment whatsoever.

8  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Potty Poem needed for fundraiser on: July 02, 2004 08:43:48 PM
My son's soccer team (U-11) is hideously decorating toilets (3 of them) to be placed in yards around town as a fundraiser. It would be really neat if we could get an 8-liner or so to attach to the toilet to let people know why it's there.

Here's how it works: You pay $5 to place a toilet in someone else's yard, they pay you $5 to remove it and $10 to purchase insurance (to not get it back). You can purchase an insurance override for $20, which means you can put it back in the yard of someone who bought the insurance.

I'm going to make up t-shirts for the boys to wear when they are delivering that say "Potty Patrol" and may include the team or club name on them too.  A quick slogan to put on those would be great too.

I posted this request on craftsayings and got a response or two, but would like to have a selection for the boys to vote on next Wednesday.  Your help is appreciated.
9  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Paint Stir Sticks on: June 17, 2004 09:33:41 PM
I need a quick and easy craft, appealing to young children (2-10) using paint stir sticks.  Home Depot donated several thousand to a local arts council last summer and we still have cases of them left.  We'd like to use them for a make-and-take project for the young'uns this year.  Any ideas?  Thanks.
10  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Vodka Slush on: May 24, 2004 11:56:44 AM
I'm turning 35 this week, but I vaguely remember my mom and dad making a Vodka Slush for parties when I was very young (maybe 6 or so).  I think it was green.  That is all I know.  Does anybody have an idea or recipe on how to make this (or something similar).  Thanks.
