1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Blood splatter[not real] print dress. on: November 11, 2005 04:50:54 PM
I got an interesting blood splatter print dress at Salvation Army.  Sorry, I forgot to take a before picture.  It was a long straight muu muu looking dress.  I reconstructed it into a cute, shorter, tube dress.  On the back I didn't have quite enough fabric left so I made two plain red panels.  Thanks for looking!

Here is is on me:

Well I've been getting more and more into jewelry making lately.  I love finding jewelry at thrift shops and taking it apart and using the pieces.

This is made out of a rosary necklace:

Made out of a vintage necklace and a new guitar pick:

Made out of leftover Halloween fangs:

Made from a found piece of a car:

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / I have a full body nude unitard-what should I be? on: October 17, 2005 01:38:26 PM
So I just purchased a nude full body [long sleeves, legs and all] unitard and now I'm trying to decide what to be for halloween using this.  I was thinking a pin up girl such as Bettie Page because I could wear lingerie and it wouldn't be revealing at all.  Does anyone else have any ideas??  Thanks for your help!
4  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Can you dye fake fur? on: September 29, 2005 12:04:39 PM
HELP!  I purchased a fake fur shrug thing at Salvation Army a few weeks ago for $4.  It's off white and I would like to dye it a bright color such as teal or pink.  This is what the label says:  Dorama, orlon & dynel, clean by furrier method, a princeton fabric.  I was told at JoAnns that it wouldn't work.  I was just wondering if anyone on here had any ideas.  I guess I could spray paint it but then it would be all clumpy and stiff.  Thanks for your time.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 80's prom dress into top on: April 27, 2005 07:17:20 AM
I got this awesome 1980's electric blue prom dress at Salvation Army.  It never really fit right and so I never wore it out.  So I decided to make it into a top and a skirt.  I made the top by combining a lace bustier from Salvation Army and the dress.  Here it is:

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My bright green prom dress. on: April 27, 2005 07:13:59 AM
Hello craftsters!  I thought I would post this since so many of you are getting ready for prom.  My best friend made this dress in an hour or so with no pattern.  I'm a little bigger than I was three years ago...you know the freshman 15 or whatever..so it's being modeled by my dress form and doesn't look as nice as it would on a sexy lady.  The fabric is from JoAnns and cost about $1.50/yard.

It isn't the best sewing job but I love it anyways!  Here it is after:

I also made a boob tube out of a mens XL tee shirt:

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 2 tee shirts and 1 skirt on: March 09, 2005 04:37:15 PM
Here are some things I reconstructed.  Sorry about the cheesy mirror pictures, next time I'll have someone else take pictures. Thanks for looking!

This was a mens XL muscle tank before.

This was a mens XXL tee shirt before.

And finally these were jeans that I made into a skirt then added rows of lace to the butt.
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / rock n roll earrings on: March 09, 2005 04:30:05 PM
Here are five pairs of earrings I made out of chain, guitar picks, fake safty pins [I think they are for decor at baby showers.], little records, and a few other charms.  If you have any questions just ask.  Thanks for looking!
