Our best friends little man was turning 7 and had an Angry Birds themed birthday party last friday, so I had the bright idea of making him a quilt (with 24 hours to go until the party!)




My husband and son (who actually play angry birds) informed me of which birds needed to be on there - and what their expressions should be 'this bird flies fast, this one is a bomb bird etc...'

It felt like everytime I thought I had finished it, either one of them would say 'where is the pig?' or similar...



In the end I ran out of time and with 40 minutes to go until the party (and in need of a shower) I gifted what I had done. But my son wasn't impressed that I left out the blue bird (and I wasn't impressed that I hadn't manage to get a quilt label on the back!) So I managed to get the quilt back for just a couple of hours to add those things today..

I have just finished this quilt for a primary school (kindergarten) teacher of mine, who really touched my life - after being taught by her over 20 years ago, I managed to track her down last year and made her this quilt which is all ready to be packaged up and sent to her tomorow (all the way to france)

I wanted to make something fun for my game-loving husband for Christmas, so I came up with this design for a lap quilt for him. Its 46" x 56" and the front is quilted onto the batting, with red minky add last to the back.

I am really new to quilts - this baby quilt is for a sweet friend of mine who is expecting her first baby (don't know the sex) I opted for neutral colours and cute japanese storytale fabrics, along with the Kurt Halsey embroideries.





Its not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it has been made with alot of love and I hope that is what bubba feels when he/she is wrapped in it.
