ohhh bats are so cute, lol they actually look scary because it is hard to see thier faces, but they are good for bugs. I found one in my fireplace once hehe he must have come in and then he was making all kinds of noise, my husband opened the screen and he almost knocked me out. He was flying like a bat out of hell haha. ok I sound dumb lol but I have never found them hanging out anywhere in our yard or my parents. Nowhere around here but I see them flying in the evening. Maybe I should make a bat house. hmmm.
12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: Dont' mean to complain........ on: May 12, 2006 02:47:59 PM
I think that is a good idea Deirdre. I mean I am just now doing my first swap, and really until I saw this post I didn't have a thought about my swap partner flaking on me. And now I realize the reason I never thought that she would is that she has been really good about emails and messages. In fact she sent me a pm before I even found out that the partners had been posted. I mean she has already put in quite a bit of time emailing me and questions about likes/dislikes, etc. that I can tell she is excited (her first swap also) So that is something that should naturally happen when people are excited about the swap.
And that does sound so awful about people flaking out. Things happen, but I think the guilt would kill me if I flaked on something like that and never let people know what was going on.
Anyhow I would probably cry too Smoker ( I think you are in the smokers swap too so hopefully it wont happen) at least acknowledge that you got it and don't leave the sender just hanging. I completely agree with JazzyBee, it's not just kinda rude it is Absolutely rude and selfish! Didn't peoples' moms teach them anything? That was a lesson learned at like 5 years old.
I have to say (I know this is a long post, almost done, swear) that I am most excited (and nervous) about making something for someone else! I have tried to put a lot of thought into it, and been busy working on it. I just hope she likes it all and thinks that is was well made. I honestly haven't even had time to think about what I am going to get. So really, why wouldn't you let the person know that you have gotten it, I mean aren't you excited waiting for them to get yours? ok done. lol.

14  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Recent Handspun yarn (image heavy +more on pg3+4+5) on: May 11, 2006 08:50:40 AM
That is really beautiful yarn...what else can I say. I know everyone is saying it, but it's the only thing I can think..it is like hypnotizing (sp?) and I think everyone would just like to swim in it. I have never seen any yarn like that before, stores here just have the basic crap, it is hard to even find cotton or wool. Anyhow I am sorry too about your boyfriend and you ugh it makes me sick when people break up. I just remember how physically sick it made me when I had broken up with someone before and I feel the same way when other people break up after long periods of time. anyhow I will have to go look up information on spinning. I don't have time to do it, or any space to store all kinds of yarn lol, but I haven't a clue how it actually works and am very interested in the proccess now. Beautiful!!!

That is really cute, I don't think we have flying squirrels here. I used to like woodburing, lol it is pretty hard. All of my stuff looked much worse. Good job!
16  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: My pink and black patterned nails on: April 18, 2006 09:42:28 AM
tangieeee- it depends on your actual skin tone, are you cool, warm or neutral? Corals, reds, warm pinks, orange look good with warm skin tones. Cool blues and greens look good with cool tones. Pretty much everything looks good with neutral. Plus there are always warmer blues and cooler pinks. It just depends on what base tones they use. So if you know what your undertones are it is pretty easy to find good colors on you. If you are cool you could wear a pastel green or blue with black..since its spring and all I think it would look cute. I look silly with blue and green polish.

If you use an acrylic overlay ( or like the kind you dip in acrylic) or gel overlay your polish will like never peel off. I mean I have had acrylics for years and you have to practically chew the polish off, or you know, use remover. You could do a very thin coat, it also helps to protect your nails and keep them long and strong. You don't have to worry about damage with an overlay because it is so easy to remove when it is thin. So anyhow, if you really want polish to stick give it a shot.
