11  Re: In leiu of mother's corsages in Weddings and Bridal Showers by ph33lth3lov3 on: May 31, 2005 10:30:30 PM
i think it would be cool if it was something they could use later... so maybe their initial and a flower? I know they aren't really partial to flowers, but they look so purty on handkercheifs! ^_^ Or maybe, because it is not a traditional flowery wedding, you could put little interlocking squares... like rings!
I made it in photoshop because i like this idea.. :]

I just used M for Mom. You could change the colors or something for each person, if you wanted to.
Anyways.. Congratulations and good luck with the wedding!

It has a beatles/lennon theme.
Here's the flyer they gave out.

It took FOREVER to finish, but i'm so glad it worked out. We were literally working untill the last second to finish.
I'm going to post the link to vote when we are up on the duct tape website.  Grin

14  Re: square one in Craftster Picture Hosting Support by ph33lth3lov3 on: April 20, 2005 09:57:20 PM
what size are your pictures?
i don't know anything about craftster hosting, but photobucket.com has a photo resizer and allows you to upload and organize your pics.
after you register, you just upload the picture(s) into photobucket (the place to upload them is on the top of your account page). Toget your pics so they show in your post, you need to put the picture code inside the [img] tags. There are codes under the pictures, to post them on craftster you need the one with the [img] tags. just copy and paste the code into the window, and post! i use it for all of my pics.
it can be kinda tricky the first time posting, but we're all ready to help!  Grin

15  Re: Asymmetrical Lace-up Shirt *Now With Tutorial!* in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ph33lth3lov3 on: April 13, 2005 12:59:21 AM
yippee! i finished mine! i think i need to add more ribbons, its not quite as corset-y as i would like.
but otherwise, i think i have found love.
When i started, it said "we're your future" and was kind of alienating. So after i made the corset part, i painted on it with acrylic craft paint to match the fabric i used in place of the ribbons in lemonadelemonade's tute. :] it says, "imagination is the eye of the soul" - Joseph Joubert.

thanks for posting this! it is a way cool tutorial, and it really helped my spring break.  Grin

16  I <3 my new cloche and poncho! in Crochet: Completed Projects by ph33lth3lov3 on: December 05, 2004 12:24:24 AM
I have an announcement- I <3 cloches! I used extra squares from my poncho. Vintage patterns rock! especially when they work out to be just the right length to fit around my mongo head. :]

I used the flower from Beppycats hat, the flower one, and just sc'd around the bottom.

Edit!
Here are some pics of my poncho. With school and... patience it took me about three months. Modified vintage stole pattern from my mom's old collection. (time to bring out the duct tape mannequin!)

17  kitty hat!(now with tutorial-esque pictures) in Crochet: Completed Projects by ph33lth3lov3 on: November 28, 2004 12:43:50 AM
I just realized, i forgot to put in the 'next row' instructions... I've corrected the pattern below...

Finally, I have made my own kitty ear hat. Now that its gotten cold down here in Cali, I can use it. Here's a makeshift pattern, i've never really made a pattern before so bear with me.
I just chained(sc) enough to fit my head, then sc 4, then four from the end dc every third stitch till the end.** chain two. DC in second stitch from the end. chain 1. dc in second stitch from dc. continue until end. **(repeat between **, about 13 rows.until it fits your head) It should look like a rectangle. "Sew" ends together, so it looks like a tube. sew the top part together, so you have a square with a closed bottom (like a purse). put your hat on, and find where you want the ears to be. sew (right side out, if applicable) the two sides together where you want the ears to be. finish off the ends!
i've found it equally cute when the ears are just tied in the center of the ears, near the head.

I found the idea for this hat on craftster somewhere. Thanks Craftster!

please ignore my messy desk... my work got ahead of me.
I'm making these for my good friends for xmas, it's a really quick project and it makes you truly giddy while you're wearing it. I think it's at least two hats per 3.5 oz skien!  X :]

Okay, Some questions about the pattern are best helped with pictures.

and on second thought, that picture is small. Here is a bigger picture.

18  50's housewife... accessories? in Halloween Costumes by ph33lth3lov3 on: October 23, 2004 11:53:51 PM
I want to be a 50's housewife for halloween... what should i do to complete my ensemble? I've shown my costume to a few people and they don't know what i'm supposed to be- i just look like i'm going to a special event.  I made the pearls this afternoon! (they're plastic  Wink )

I was thinking maybe an apron or a feather duster or something. i have to go to school with it, so i need something i can just carry.
thanks!

20  I'm Torn! Grungy or Girly? in Crafty Business Discussion by ph33lth3lov3 on: September 28, 2004 09:43:19 PM
I'm not sure which way to go with my business... or my website.
I have developed two logos and names, but I have a favorite of the two. However, my second opinion favors the opposite.
I'm not sure which (if any) is more appealing to other people!
Should I go simple and bold with Origin?

or should I go a little grunge with Worn?

I will mostly be selling buttons, but also shirts and (hopefully) purses/bags.
