Ooh,

I'm working on my first swap now, but I'll be done and ready to sign up for this one if you do plan sign-ups for late september/ early october.
I've been scheming some pillow cover ideas for some time now ...

thanks for all the interest!  If you guys really do want some strategically essential shirts, stop by my etsy shop and make an alchemy request ... or pm me.  Perhaps one day, everyone will sport a womb on their chest!  (wishful thinking ...)

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: why must scarves be so addictive?? (img heavy) on: August 28, 2006 07:24:01 PM
thanks for the words of affirmation!  It makes me feel not-so-crazy for making scarfs while summer still has its claws firmly latched into the deep south.

Originalyouth,  I did the green/white scarf in a gauzy cotton/nylon tape and just used drop stitch throughout.  I'm not usually one for the tape/ribbon yarn, but this stuff was calling my name at my lys for weeks.

and Huhwhat?, I just did a zig-zag lace pattern that I plotted myself for the flower scarf.  I kind of cheated because the flower is actually a crochet embellishment.

I'm glad you guys like the scarves!

Its hot here in Alabama.  Really, really hot.  And yet, for the past couple of weeks, all I'm interested in knitting is scarves.  Even though I can hardly wait to finish my dreamcatcher medallion cardi and I HAVE to finish an unweildy afghan for my boyfriend's very quickly approaching birthday, I can't shake the scarves.  Anticipation for cooler weather perhaps?   Here are some of the items in question:

I loooove your sweater!  I've been wanting to make this sweater forever, but I never get around to actually buying the yarn (code for "I can't afford that much cashmerino chunky and I haven't had time to shop around for a cheaper substitute").  Your neck mod is awesome; I may have to cough up the cash for supplies soon.
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Book Clutch and Card Purse *Img heavy* on: July 29, 2006 03:38:30 PM
I love the book clutch!  I might have to try making one for myself ...
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: miss mousey reconstructed sweater bag and more on: July 29, 2006 03:31:40 PM
Thanks for the kind words!  I love repurposing these sweaters because it's super fun and after I finish one, I feel a little better about not being able to recycle a lot of my garbage.  (thanks to Alabama's draconian ideas about what is recyclable) ...
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: when a girl peruses anthropologie catalogues too often ... on: July 25, 2006 11:45:24 AM
thanks!  I like it so much that I'm working on another one.

and prettynpink, you're right, it does have a few elements similar to those in the magnolia scarf, which is as pretty as the vine scarf.
