1  why must scarves be so addictive?? (img heavy) in Knitting: Completed Projects by werdnerd on: August 28, 2006 03:14:02 PM
Its hot here in Alabama.  Really, really hot.  And yet, for the past couple of weeks, all I'm interested in knitting is scarves.  Even though I can hardly wait to finish my dreamcatcher medallion cardi and I HAVE to finish an unweildy afghan for my boyfriend's very quickly approaching birthday, I can't shake the scarves.  Anticipation for cooler weather perhaps?   Here are some of the items in question:

2  miss mousey reconstructed sweater bag(new pics!) img heavy in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by werdnerd on: July 25, 2006 07:46:17 AM
I've been making handbags from old sweaters for a couple months now.  At one point, I became an official thrift store rat; I was there at least twice a week to search for new sweaters.  Here are some of my favorites.

the miss mousey!

the birdie bag

and the lollipop flower

and here are two more I finished ... the little bird pouch

and one I reconstructed from a beloved old skirt

3  when a girl peruses anthropologie catalogues too often ... in Crochet: Completed Projects by werdnerd on: July 23, 2006 01:48:51 PM
she (in this case, the she is I) spends too much time devising ways to make what she covets.
Ever since I saw the "vine scarf" anthropologie was selling last year for more than my life is worth, I've been planning to execute my own cheap knockoff.  Nearly a year later, I've finally done it!  While the end result is of course nothing like the scarf that inspired me, I love it.

4  puppy dog cape! in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by werdnerd on: July 18, 2006 10:56:45 AM
My dog, Brindle is a very tolerant model.  She's wearing a dog sweater I knit (inspired by a cardigan sweater from the spring/summer vogue knitting which I will one day make for myself) and embellished with crochet shells.  Let me know what you think!

5  another cupcake! in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by werdnerd on: May 11, 2006 01:52:15 PM
I finally finished my cupcake!

I used artful yarns "fable" for this project and it was a dream to work with. It has the best ever-so-subtle sheen.  I'm a knitter usually, so this is my very first crochet project.  I think I'm in love!

I can't decide whether or not I want to add a ribbon, and if I do, what color it should be...

6  oh my ... uterus? in Screen Printing: Completed Projects by werdnerd on: May 07, 2006 10:30:42 PM
I started making these tees for my first screenprinting project a few weeks ago, and now I can't stop.
I used the brilliant faux method from this board, and I'm pretty pleased with the results; let me know what you think!
