1  why must scarves be so addictive?? (img heavy) in Knitting: Completed Projects by werdnerd on: August 28, 2006 03:14:02 PM
Its hot here in Alabama.  Really, really hot.  And yet, for the past couple of weeks, all I'm interested in knitting is scarves.  Even though I can hardly wait to finish my dreamcatcher medallion cardi and I HAVE to finish an unweildy afghan for my boyfriend's very quickly approaching birthday, I can't shake the scarves.  Anticipation for cooler weather perhaps?   Here are some of the items in question:

I've been making handbags from old sweaters for a couple months now.  At one point, I became an official thrift store rat; I was there at least twice a week to search for new sweaters.  Here are some of my favorites.

she (in this case, the she is I) spends too much time devising ways to make what she covets.
Ever since I saw the "vine scarf" anthropologie was selling last year for more than my life is worth, I've been planning to execute my own cheap knockoff.  Nearly a year later, I've finally done it!  While the end result is of course nothing like the scarf that inspired me, I love it.

My dog, Brindle is a very tolerant model.  She's wearing a dog sweater I knit (inspired by a cardigan sweater from the spring/summer vogue knitting which I will one day make for myself) and embellished with crochet shells.  Let me know what you think!

I finally finished my cupcake!

I used artful yarns "fable" for this project and it was a dream to work with. It has the best ever-so-subtle sheen.  I'm a knitter usually, so this is my very first crochet project.  I think I'm in love!

I can't decide whether or not I want to add a ribbon, and if I do, what color it should be...

I started making these tees for my first screenprinting project a few weeks ago, and now I can't stop.
I used the brilliant faux method from this board, and I'm pretty pleased with the results; let me know what you think!
