1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / help with white Superlock 534 on: August 07, 2010 02:15:53 PM
need some help... got a vintage White Suplerlock 534, had maintenance done it... was sewing diaper soakers - broke a needle - i think my soakers are a little thick  Smiley replaced needle but the thread thru the upper loop won't stay threaded. do you think i broke something or just need to play with it some more with tension, etc?
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Holy Schmidt I Made a Wedding Dress (pic rotund) on: March 25, 2010 03:25:04 PM
Wow looks fantastic! but i agree with the other poster, make it mid calf length!!! instead of hemming you could add a bit of lace  - nothing too crazy - just a subtle detail!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cloche hat pattern for sewing? on: January 21, 2009 09:46:43 PM
Nah every post i've read on here where the person talks of making their own pattern, talks about how drafts they made!
I can't reall help you with the hat, came across your query while looking for a cloche pattern for myself.
the only free pattern i've come across is this http://sewing.about.com/od/childrensclothingprojects/ss/flutedhat.htm
i think if might work for a cloche style hat
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Super easy toddler smock bib on: January 19, 2009 03:07:51 PM
Hey just had an idea of a easy toddler bib
Start with a towel - the longest side will determine the length of the sleeves - longer means longer sleeves
try to find those ones that are long and skinny so less cutting!

cut along the dotted line (stops at the halfway point)
add trim along where you cut or make two and sew them together to make it double sided
fold up sides after cutting along the dotted line (stops at the halfway point)
sew seam at top it will look like T

turn inside out (so the 2 top seams are hidden)
and viola you've got a bib with little sleeves

Add straps to tie around neck!
I'll add photo's once i actually make one.
Let me know if you have any questions, etc!
