811  Re: Shop the Swap Round 3 Discussion Thread in New Swap Theme Ideas by underthemountain on: June 22, 2007 05:41:20 PM

My copy of _Heritage of Southern Cooking_ has three chess pie recipes, two of which are from Maryland, the other one is from Kentucky. Weird that you don't see them around much...

It's 5/6 from a clothing pattern.  Off the rack Lana wears a 4T/5T depending on the outfit.  Smiley  I can't wait to see what you're offering.  Could you post pics of fabric choices and clothing styles.

I'll look thru my fabric closet tomorrow, but here are some patterns that I was looking at (a friend of mine has two little girls):

I also have these baby/toddler patterns:
plus some oop ones, here is a set I made for aforementioned daughter-of-friend:

It's a conspiracy to keep me away from pies.  LOL!  BTW we received TheSickRose's awesome slices of pie today.  Lana loved them!!

Ack, I love all of the patterns.  I'm trying to decide between asking you for a dress or a cape for Lana.  Yay!!  Are the capes lined? Specifically the black cape with the animal print and the red hood cape.

Have a good evening everyone!

Neat, can't wait to see more of your discharged items Ptarmic.

Worked on my bracelet last night.  The links were a big big so I modified the design a bit adding an extra ring to the parts that link it together.  I think it looks alot better and the weight is nicer too.

Heehee, just noticed that the fabric I took the pic on makes this look like it's floating in space.  I hope my friend likes it.

Yay!!  I received the wonderful cookies from BeastBunny and the awesome sweaters from Loves2experiment.  As you can see all of my girls were loving their goodies.  Thank you both!!!!

And here's an action shot of Lana's little ogres pigging out.  Dulcinea made me the sushi in OWS23.  Isn't it all so great!!

814  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 23 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by underthemountain on: June 20, 2007 05:50:58 PM
Woohoo!!  Today was a red letter day!  I came home to 2 awesome packages.  Thank you sooo much to my partners Dulcinea and RedHeadSkydiver for fulfilling my wishes!

Dulcinea gave me tons of amigurumi eyes in all sorts of colors and sizes and a fabulous sushi set for my daughter.  As you can tell from the pic Lana is thrilled.  Thank you!!  I can't wait to make some critters now that I have some great eyes to work with!

And RedheadSkydiver granted my wish for homespun yarn.  Wow!  The pics do not do justice to the awesomeness of this yarn.  I'm going to have to whip up a hat for Lana with this.  Thank you!!

Thank you gals for showering me with awesomeness!!!

Raynbow and Loves2experiment hope your burns feel better soon.  I feel for you people who burn.

Today I found some neat stones to make simple pendants from.  I also went to the lego store and found some neat new colors and a lego doggie, and soon I'll be gettting those lego lightsabers.

Here's the haul.

I'm thinking a lariat necklace for the 2 green stones and simple necklaces from the others.  I really love the teardrop and trapezoid ones.   They've got some funky mineral growth going on inside.  These pics don't do them justice.  And I've been really into asymmetric stones lately so I think the smoky and pink quartz will look fab too.

Custom orders anyone?

Thanks Ptarmic!!

I've been a busy bee.  Here's a progress pic of the first batch!!  This is  about 1/4 of a fleece. It's all washed, but not carded yet.  I have to buy a carder soon.  My hubby wanted some of the discolored ugly-throw away bits for his fish lures.   I'm feeling jazzed.  I think I'll be able to do the entire fleece today!!  Woot!

And xladyluckx just sent me 6 more fleeces.  Wee!!

818  Egg and Spermatozoa amigurumis (Come swim with us!) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by underthemountain on: June 01, 2007 02:16:31 AM
Hi!!  Well, after lusting over all the wonderful amis here I decided to take the plunge and make one of my own.  I just modified a ball pattern that I found on the web added a pipe cleaner to the tail and voila Mr. Sperm was born.  Of course he needed a brother and a nice egg to chase so I made Ms. Egg and Brother Sperm  One of these is for my friend.  So loves2experiment I hope you're not peeking.
Face on

Speaking of drool get ready to drool over this fantastic felt pic of Mt.Fuji made by the uber talented Ptarmic_Wumpus!!

My grandfather used to have a pic of Mt. Fuji in his living room.   I think he was longing for home.  Anyhow this will always remind me of him.  Thank you so much Nikki!!!  I really, really love it!!
