21  a truly rockin sock monkey in CHALLENGE 13 ENTRIES by ModernDayDauphine on: July 04, 2006 02:50:29 PM
this monkey is more of a tribute to all female rock stars then to any one person in particular.  my first sock monkey and my first challenge entry ever.

I used a pink leopard sock and a pink sparkly sock and the clothes are made out of fabric scraps.

so here is my monkey the rockstar

and here she is rocking out on her paper wire and foam guitar!

22  beach souvenier in Completed Projects by ModernDayDauphine on: June 14, 2006 10:51:13 PM
i went to venice beach with three of my girl friends and found a gorgeous big shell under my foot in the ocean.  so i decided to make a souvenier out of it.

i used wire and beads.  the beads on each wire person match the color of one of our bathing suits. i also wrote the date in a corner with a black felt tip marker and made a little stand for it

23  mag bead and wire necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by ModernDayDauphine on: June 01, 2006 03:52:42 PM
So i wasnt sure if this should go under reconstructed (because the long beads are made out of magazine paper) or general, but i decided that since only the beads and not the necklace its self is reconstructed it would be ok in this topic.  but anyway, here it is
the neclace

a close up of the wire detail

a close up of the dngling center bead

and a sideways view of the entire necklace

the back of the necklace is black string/twine with a toggle clasp.
any comments or critiscism (or advice on working with wire since it was my first time) are greatly appreciated!

thanks
xoxo
