1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Floral Bag Swap Gallery! on: August 03, 2007 12:30:27 PM
Here's what I sent cumber1127.  I have a really crappy picture, so hopefully she can post better ones when she has the chance!

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / scrapbooked travel journal on: July 28, 2007 07:48:39 PM
So one of my best friends is currently in Switzerland and Italy (lucky duck), and since it was her first time out of the country and well, ever leaving home, I made her a travel journal before she left.  I scrapbooked the first few pages to remind her of home and where's she's been, and left lots of pages to document where she's going!

It was also my first book binding experience, and its not perfect, but I am very happy with it!
Here's the pages:

cover, her initial on a map of PA! (homestate)

last page before the blank pages, a pull-out!

Hope you enjoy, if anyone wants closer images I have them.

Haha, yes the bag is huge!  I kept waiting to take better pictures, but all I have are ones I took on myself.

Here's one (just so I post one!):

I am also in pajamas.  That don't match.

Can't wait to see everyone's creations!
4  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Floral Bag Swap (Sign-Ups Closed ** Partners Posted ** Send-Out 7/27) on: July 26, 2007 07:07:11 PM
I am so bummed because I finished the bag and I am so excited because I think my partner will really like it!  I was going to send it today and be a day early and I was pumped about that, and then I got called into work and the post office closed before I could get there.  So it gets sent off tomorrow right on time!
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / starting photographer - suggestions? [pic heavy] on: July 22, 2007 09:48:16 PM
I really am a novice at photography, but I love it and would love to learn more about it.  So until I can sign myself up for a photography class, I was hoping the expert craftsters would put in their two cents!

These were taken at the Mattress Factory, a modern art museum in Pittburgh.  I also altered them with MGI Photosuite, my outdated yet very fun photo program.

This picture is not altered.  Can you believe the light just came in like that?  And no comments on the pose, I am not a dancer!

Sorry!  I know there are a lot, but I would really like some guidance/suggestions.  I am so inspired by this board!
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Floral Bag Swap (Sign-Ups Closed ** Partners Posted ** Send-Out 7/27) on: July 11, 2007 02:24:30 PM
I received today from Cumber1137, and its beautiful!!!  And extremely early, seeing as I have just found the fabric and started the cutting!
It's the perfect size to tote around costumes (I design for a local theater group).  Pictures will be posted tomorrow since today is rather hectic.
7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Musical Theatre Swap! (CLOSED, send-outs 7/7/07) on: June 28, 2007 11:39:49 AM

Pretty please?
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: No more white walls on: June 27, 2007 08:20:47 PM
wow, I love that you used sheer fabric because it almost adds extra depth, and it keeps it from looking too heavy!
Awesome job!

But what is a lathing strip?
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Unique Name Swap? on: June 21, 2007 11:28:22 PM
I just read through all the other posts and had to contribute...

My name is Cassandra, which isn't all that unique, more unusual I guess.  It is greek for "phophetess of doom".  I really love my full name - Cassandra Elise, but I go more often by Cassie.
Yeah, can't find that anywhere.  A lot of Casey...no Cassie.

Well the real fun comes in when you figure in the last name, and apparently my parents didn't figure this out until too late...my last name is Bass.

Which of course meant lots of fish jokes and ass jokes, since of course, rhyming never goes out of style.

The best part?  My first initial and last name make CBass...seabass...y eah.  Actually, I rather like it, and a lot of my friends call me CBass.

Sorry for the life story of my name!  This thread is just too interesting, and if I would have caught it sooner I would have loved to participate!
10  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / 60's looking Oscar de la Renta dress into gaudy costume! on: June 13, 2007 03:35:30 PM
So my friends and I are super theater dorks and threw a Tony Award's Party.  Everyone had to dress up as a character from theater, and I chose Tracy Turnblad from Hairspray.  I found this cyan blue shift dress at my community thrift store, and it hurt me a little to mess up a de la Renta...but I bedazzled and 60's-fied til my fingers hurt.

The final result?

(my friend is Moritz from Spring Awakening...which swept the Tony's)

A better pic of the front

And of course, the hair and make-up!!

Sorry for the picture whoring and large size!
