1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting at work on: October 11, 2008 07:18:41 PM
Yup, I knit at work...in my call center job!  No customers to catch me, and working on small projects keeps me settled when clients just need someone to listen, and keeps me happy during the occasional downtime!  Wouldn't bring it to a meeting, but thankfully haven't been asked not to knit at my desk!
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Good Sewing book on: July 17, 2008 12:21:32 PM
i LOVE the Sew Everything Workshop by Diana Rupp (amazon info: http://www.amazon.com/Sew-Everything-Workshop-Diana-Rupp/dp/0761139737/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1216322302&sr=8-1); totally explains the basics in an understandable way, and includes patterns for stuff you actually want to make!  Definitely worth checking out.  Grin

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Hey, hey. You're a monkey! on: September 23, 2007 03:05:42 PM
oh my goodness, i am SO IMPRESSED with your quilting abilities!  referring to the wiggles around the sock monkies, of course...the only time i tried free-form quilting i ended up with a sad, sad looking little oven mitt.  yes, it's true:  i managed to botch the quilting on an oven mitt. you rock, what a lucky baby!!
6  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Princess Snowball...Dog Bed! on: September 22, 2007 07:57:32 AM
...for my 5.5 pound mutt, with the hope that she'll stop going cujo on me when i try to reclaim my people pillows each night.

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Star Baby Afghan on: September 22, 2007 07:57:24 AM
LOVE these star blankets...and I think the colors are *perfect* together!  But even if you don't, I believe that every afghan creator has at least one blanket that's blinding, like a rite of pasage or something.

Um, at least that's what I tell myself every winter when i pull out my wobbly-edged lime green/cream/baby blue ripple number... Wink
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Banana Republic Hat Knockoff *big pics* on: September 22, 2007 07:50:14 AM
SO IMPRESSED with your ability to re-create this hat!  It looks really good...funny, I was in a museum shop last weekend and saw some equally overpriced hats, crocheted out of junky acrylic!  If only those non-crafty consumers knew what we did...
9  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: shoes i made on: September 22, 2007 07:43:32 AM
these are the coolest shoes!  do you crochet a cover for pre-made shoes, or do you put them together from scratch, soles and all?

really neat, either way...
