1371  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 2...gallery! on: June 28, 2006 05:39:55 AM
you're welcome Mieka  Grin, hope you like the polar pals!!

...all you need to learn to do is 'single crochet' which is honestly the easiest stitch in the world!!
here's a link to instructions:http://crochet.about.com/library/bl_singlecrochet.htm .. to learn with it's best to use a light coloured chunky yarn, and a large crochet hook,   ...and if you get stuck just message me and i'll try and help :-)

Here's the rainbow of Koolaid (I can even spell it now!!) from Ezri B, can't wait to get dying with this!
..Notice the customs tape, they couldn't resist a little peek to check what colours i will be dying my yarn!!

Thanks EzriB and Bonzo Spangly  Grin .. I've been having a really hard time the past few weeks and your packages have really brightened up my week, thanks xx

1375  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Neckline too big on my finished sweater. Ideas? on: June 26, 2006 09:36:57 AM
Great jumper, did it take long to make?  .. I'd crochet around the neck too, that or knit a few rows of rib
1376  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / White Tussah or Bombyx Silk Roving, which is best for a beginner spinning silk? on: June 25, 2006 10:09:07 AM
Hi

I'm new to spinning and i want to buy some silk to spin but I, foolishly! presumed there would be only one or two variations available!  White Tussah and Bombyx Silk Roving and noils are just a few of the varieties i've seen so far

I'm hoping to produce something similar to fyberduck's gorgeous spun silk:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=16742120.0

So please, please if anyone has any tips on what type of silk is best to learn on, and tips on dying and spinning silk, -for a complete beginner, I'd be very grateful  Grin Thank you

I just love your yarn, that's the first handspun silk i've seen, looks yummy!

I've bookmarked this page ....PLEASE come back and post the things you make with the yarn, i'd really love to see them :-)  ...what's a multidirectional scarf?? - it sounds interesting, is it knit, crochet , weave, or other?? :-)
