211  Re: Fill A Coin Purse Swap ROUND 6! in The Swap Gallery by RubyTuesday on: August 11, 2006 03:29:32 AM
Right, at last, I've managed to get the pictures here!

Here's the fantastic parcel i received from Miss_Mermaid_Strikes_Back :

Firstly, the little purse, it's sewn from wonderful batik fabric (I think that's how it's spelt!) and is lined in a really funky fabric with a circles design :-)  the contents of the purse are just amazing! I couldn't beleive it, there are mini sharpies ( great after hearing about them on here but not owning any..until now!) a lip balm,  some super cool lightsticks ( can't wait to try those out! and heaps of candy....some of which i sampled beore i took pictures  Shocked

an absolutely gorgeous flower pendant, wonderful applique dragonflies,  a very pretty pair of earrings and a packet of cute buttons

Thank you so much Miss_Mermaid, You've been a fantastic swap partner  Kiss I can only hope that my parcel puts as big a  smile on your face as yours did mine! Smiley

212  Re: Altoid tin theme swap Round 2 Gallery. in The Swap Gallery by RubyTuesday on: August 02, 2006 02:19:20 PM
Sorry I can't be an angel, I haven't managed to lay my hands on another suitable tin .. yet but off topic/
Woo, i just found my first altoid tin!!  - don't laugh! - I live in the country where they make the little blighters but I can't buy them here - how daft is that?!

I asked my mum if she had any old buttons she didn't want because I want to have a go at making a tote with some on.  Yesterday she turned up with a big tin of buttons and in there was a small tin, I couldn't read what it had on the lid because someone had stuck a paracetamol label on the front, which was really cute... but being able to read '...ids' i couldn't help but peel the label off and there was my first and probably last British sold altoid tin, i've no idea how old it is, when I opened it up it was full of button's from shoes, old clothes buttons and even what looks to be a Roman coin Grin

Sorry if I've bored you all but I just can't resist little old treasures, this is certainly one little tin I won't be decorating! -Good ol' mum for hoarding!!

Hey, what a lot of fab jewellery! - there are so many talented craftsters swapping on here  Smiley

I received from onthinice  Grin It felt like christmas opening the box!  Inside I was thrilled to find a mixed paper journal, beautiful stitch markers, a surprise swap journal and packets of koolaid!! Thank you onthinice! I just love this swap  Roll Eyes

The journals are just gorgeous :-) they are so professional, the mixed paper is wonderful and the beads on the cover really set it off :-) it's the first journal i've seen and it's even nicer than i imagined!  and i hadn't even listed a swap journal because i thought they must be so time consuming to make and i didn't want to be too greedy, - you must be telapathic onthinice!!

These stitch markers are great, just what i needed, I'll have to make a few more amigurumi to try them out :-)

Thank you very much onthinice  Kiss .. it's much appreciated!

you're welcome Mieka  Grin, hope you like the polar pals!!

...all you need to learn to do is 'single crochet' which is honestly the easiest stitch in the world!!
here's a link to instructions:http://crochet.about.com/library/bl_singlecrochet.htm .. to learn with it's best to use a light coloured chunky yarn, and a large crochet hook,   ...and if you get stuck just message me and i'll try and help :-)
