1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Wedding Bells Wreath on: December 08, 2010 12:43:28 PM
I just made a cute little wreath using a pre-made wreath from Joann and bells from a friend's wedding.  We rang bells as they left the church instead of throwing rice Smiley  The wreath was super easy to make, all I had to do was attatch the bells using some wire:

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Red Hot Scarf on: June 09, 2010 11:36:39 AM
I got a bit of gift knitting done this week, this scarf is going to my mom, probably for Christmas:

The pattern is free, it's the Panda Cotton Drop Stitch Scarf that I designed for Crystal Palace:

http://www.straw.com/cpy/patterns/scarves/pandaCotton-dropst-scarf.html

I used two skeins of Eden yarn (100% bamboo) in a bright red color.  I hope mom likes it!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / BBQ Ribs Socks on: June 03, 2010 01:18:29 PM
Last month I knit two pair of these socks that I designed, they're called BBQ Ribs - the name was inspired by the colorway of the yarn I used, BBQ Sauce  Cheesy

I used two skeins of Panda Cotton (a cotton/bamboo/elastic blend) for the socks - one pair in BBQ Sauce and one in Lake View:

The red pair is for my husband and the other pair is for me, I'm lucky (I think!) that I have a husband who really loves and appreciates handknit socks  Grin
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Onesies for a knitter's baby on: February 13, 2010 01:52:47 PM
A friend from my knitting group is having a baby next month so I embroidered some organic cotton onesies with some cute knitting/yarn themed patterns (plus a monkey one):

The two knitting patterns are from Urban Threads and the monkey is from Sublime.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Sock Monkey PJs on: February 13, 2010 01:49:02 PM
I just finished these cute sock monkey jammies for a friend whose having a baby next month:

The pattern is from Amy Butler's Little Stitches and it was a bit of a challenge.  I'm more of a quilter and bag sewer, so any sort of garment kind of makes my brain explode Smiley But it was worth it because the jammies came out super cute!

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Pink Soybean Socks on: January 13, 2010 02:04:33 PM
My newest finished socks!

I looove them, the pattern is called Soybean Socks and the yarn I used was 2 skeins of Crystal Palace's Panda Soy in the Provence colorway.  The only change I made to the pattern was to add one extra set of toe decreases.  The pattern is availabe as a free Ravelry download:

7  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies on: October 06, 2009 12:44:07 PM

I was in the mood for some basic chocolate chip cookies last night so I whipped some up using this recipe from the PPK Blog:

http://theppk.com/blog/2008/11/10/chocolate-chip-cookies/

They weren't Earth shatteringly amazing, but they were very good basic choco chip cookies!
8  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Vegan Thumbprint Cookies on: October 01, 2009 11:21:52 AM
Last night, the husband and I made Vegan Thumbprint Cookies using both strawberry and blueberry jam:

They were so yummy!  I used this super simple recipe:

http://www.vegbitch.com/2007/08/18/swedish-jamfilled-thumbprint-cookies/

I followed the recipe almost exactly except I added a tiny pinch of salt.  I also rolled a couple of cookies in some chopped peanuts for a pb&j type of deal and it was delicious!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Forest Canopy Shawl on: September 27, 2009 01:57:53 PM

My first lace shawl, yay!  The pattern is the Forest Canopy Shawl and it was awesome, very well written and included both written instructions and charts.  The yarn is one skein of South West Trading Company's Bamboo (100% Bamboo) in the Purplexed Colorwary.  I can't wait to wear it this fall!

10  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Vegan Potatoes Au Gratin on: September 24, 2009 11:49:32 AM

Last night was all sorts of starchy deliciousness!  I made potatoes au gratin from this recipe:

http://www.myvegancookbook.com/recipes/recipe.php?id=9

I chose it because we had all of the ingredients and it had a lot less fat added than most recipes I saw.  It was super easy to make and came out really yummy, I'll be making this one again for sure!
