it won't make sense to most people
it's a quote from a rapper she likes
& sorry, my room's a mess
also, i don't know what's wrong with my face in the right side picture

another gift i made for my best friend's birthday
i sewed up the pillow then stenciled the lyrics & englishman
A) gray is her favorite color
B) she really likes that song
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / 305 'til i die on: May 19, 2007 12:54:51 PM
i made a shirt for my mum for mother's day
she likes to pretend she's a ghetto gangster, so i thought she'd like this
& she did, she couldn't stop laughing for a while haha

detail shot:

for all of you who don't know
1. 305 = miami, fl
2. she's trying to make a "gangster" face in the picture
yeah i don't know either haha

stenciled w/ acrylics
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / schoolmarm to picnic dress on: May 19, 2007 12:49:15 PM
last weekend i bought a grandma dress for $4 at goodwill
and took it home
when i put it on my mum told me i looked like an old schoolmarm haha

*if you want to see this full size, just right click & click "view image"

so it sat around all week while i thought of what to make it into
then last night i figured out what i wanted
& reconstructed the dress completely

*if you want to see this full size, just right click & click "view image"
i think i have to thank cindy sherman's "untitled frame still #35" for influencing the pose in the first picture on the left

detail of the top:

narcissistic myspace shot:
even though i look paranoid, insane or something to that effect haha

it twirls so nicely Cheesy
i can foresee many picnic days and kite flying adventures in this dress

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / school fashion show dresses on: May 12, 2007 08:06:26 PM
our school recently had a fashion show to raise money for breast cancer research, so a couple of my friends and i decided it'd be fun to design and make dresses for it!
=]

four of the dresses were designed by my friend, hugo plua

and then i made two of them from scratch for him

these were the two that i made:

and

i even got to model this one =]

best shot of the back i could find:
basically the fabric gathers where the bow is and drapes down in folds

and these are the rest of the dresses from our line
the white & purple one with the corset, and the caution tape one were made by hugo

and courtney made this one

all of us lined up [except tiffany w/ the corset dress, she was somewhere at the moment lol]

the final walk on the runway
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / zebra wallet on: March 18, 2007 11:02:54 AM
my boy wanted me to make him a new wallet for his trip to ny
as well as the fact that his old one is pretty much in shambles lol

he wanted a zebra wallet
it has four pockets + the dollar pocket
his initials are sewn onto the back of the wallet
it's the first wallet i've ever made

so here it is =]

front closed:

open:

pockets:

i based this off of hdoglovesyou's wallet tutorial found here:

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / amelie bag on: March 04, 2007 10:00:41 AM
i made this bag for my mum & painted an amelie/audrey tautou stencil on it for her business trip to ny

amelie is one of our favorite movies & she had mentioned needing a small bag to just put little things so that they wouldn't get lost

i left it on her suitcases so she'd have a surprise in the morning & when she saw it she flipped out lol

7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / presents: peace day, rocket summer, hello kitty zombie, totoro on: January 09, 2007 08:10:31 PM
ok so here's the first bunch of presents from this year that i stenciled
=]

dual purpose stencil!
i made a first version for peace-day at my school
then i made one as a gift for one of my friend's b-days
the sleeve has little pin-wheels b/c at school we set up big peace signs in the grass made out of pin-wheels
it looked so cute from the second floor
=]

a rocket summer shirt for my friend's birthday
she really wanted this one from the website

and since i didn't really like how they did it
i re-made it myself Cheesy
i had to hand paint the outline of the family,
but the rest is a stencil i made based off of the original shirt

the next one is a birthday present i made for my friend uriel
she loves gore & hello kitty so i mixed to two & got
zombie hello kitty!
Cheesy
the gray part is a pocket
once again i made up the stencil myself,
the black outlines were so annoying =X__x=
i love how the first thing she said when she saw it was
"OMG the BRAINS are coming out!!"

finally is a chanukah present for my best friend
she loves totoro
so you know how it goes
i sort of want to keep it for myself lol

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / jack's mannequin dress; edit: now with tutorial on: January 09, 2007 07:38:29 PM
ignore the socks
i had them on
and they were warm
and i didn't want to take them off hahaha

detail & side shot:

anyways i made this dress this summer from an over-sized concert tee that i got at the Jack's Mannequin show
the show was amazing <3

i'm aware that the dress is quite short =.__.=
but it's fun to wear =]

i'm thinking about adding yellow to the bottom to lengthen it a bit
yes/no?

EDIT-->
i made a tutorial, finally! yay!
9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / rawr! dino-shirt on: July 26, 2006 05:23:01 PM
i draw this guy on a bunch of my notes & doodles & what not
so i made him into a shirt
yay!

sorry about the first pic's out of focus-ness

unfortunatley, when i went to handwash the shirt i saw that the "rawr." faded after i washed it
is there some sort of sealent i can paint over the image to keep it from fading even more?
10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / "That's some catch, that Catch-22." on: July 26, 2006 05:18:23 PM
i read Catch 22 [the book, not the band] this year in school & fell in love with it
i even bought myself a copy haha

anyways, i've been wanting to make a Catch shirt for a while
& finally got around to it

fun fact:
"Yossarian Lives." was the promotion slogan for Catch 22
a bunch of people created stickers, pins, wrote it on walls, bathroom stalls, anywhere to start a buzz about the book and to get people asking questions
so i thought it'd be fun to keep that alive
the funny thing is that we don't actually know if yossarian lives or not
