1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Sophia Carry-All Difficulty Level? on: September 05, 2008 05:18:54 PM
Has anyone completed this pattern? If so, can you tell me if you think it is appropriate for a beginner? I've been sewing bags for several months, but mainly off of tutorials, not actual patterns. The one time I used a pattern, I made kind of a mess of it and they've intimidated me ever since! Grin

Thanks in advance!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / How to create belled sleeves on: October 29, 2007 03:43:11 PM
I'd like to make this top-down raglan, only with long sleeves that are slightly belled.  Does anyone know of a good pattern or tutorial that shows you how to do the increases for something like this?

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Football Fan Birthday on: August 31, 2007 05:50:21 PM
My husband is a huge, huge Eagles fan.  I found fabric with the Eagles logo on it, but am blanking on what to do with it that he would find functional.  Any ideas?  I was thinking pajama pants, but anything else?
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / 200 Ripple Stitch Patterns Book Yardage Question on: August 17, 2007 05:13:27 PM
Hi, I just got this book, but since there are no yardage guidelines for any of the patterns, can someone advise as to the best way to figure out how to calculate it?

For example, I want to make the Granny Chevrons pattern, but have no idea if my stash yarn will carry me through it.  I have about 500 yds each of 3 colors.  I made a mini-swatch using an I hook and the recommended 23+2 ch.  It gave me about 6", so I figured if I wanted a 60" blanket, just chain 232 and go from there??

Does that sound right?

TIA!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Converting a Flat Pattern to Circular on: July 24, 2007 03:54:12 PM
Hi, I'm interested in converting some patterns written for flat and seamed knitting to in the round knitting.

Has anyone had any success with this?

TIA!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / ISO - Slanted Ends Scarf on: July 15, 2006 05:34:22 PM
HI-

I'm looking to make a striped scarf with ends that slant to one side.  Does anyone know of any patterns like this, maybe one in a tube style so it would be warmer?  Or could someone advise on how I could slant the ends?  I guess it would just come down to decreasing...

TIA!
