5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: how to pick yarn online on: January 25, 2011 03:21:19 PM
For amigurumi you are going to want to use acrylic yarn no doubt!!

For something for that scarf if you aren't wanting to use a yarn from an animal...stay away from the alpaca and merino. But you can look on etsy to find ppl that spin their own yarn that do have fars....but bambo will probably your best choice for that.
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Yarn Ball Holder...? (sorry about the two mondo pictures) on: January 25, 2011 06:42:30 AM
I usually sit on the couch when I am crochet and have my yarn sitting in my lap kinda like if you had a dog or cat in your lap....but usually when I pull the yarn it does some crazy hopping thing...I do like your storage holder....I think I am going to "borrow" your idea...plus I have some stickers that need to be put to good use!!!
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help! I need yarn recommendations! on: January 25, 2011 06:39:06 AM
That yarn kinda looks like Lion Brands "Homespun" its a chunky soft yarn.....BUT has no stretch....so if you are going to have the right size it would be really good I just made some slippers out of that yarn

Well I love this yarn from Hobby Lobby is a really soft worsted arylic yarn. You could double up on the strands to make it chunky, but most baby yarns aren't in browns....
