Does anyone else kind of want a Dalek? I think they are adorable with all their "EXTERMINATE!" talk. This shirt came out great. How did you draw out the Dalek? The lines, shape, and detail came out perfect! And what is tshirt vinyl?

I love it! Like everyone has already said, the Tardis is the perfect "theme" for a travel wallet!

Thank you both! I'm sure I'll be making a bunch more of these over time, since they are really useful and they are great projects for when I just want to sew something really quickly without spending an entire weekend on it!

Hi all! I'm Krisa and I'm a college student. I'm also a (sometimes) Pinterest addict! Lucky for me, I found these two tutorials on Pinterest that are quick and easy and adorable!

First off, being a busy college student, I have a TON of pencils, pens, highlighters floating around my backpack that need to be wrangled. So, when I found this tutorial http://sweet-verbena.blogspot.com/2011/10/charmed-pencil-pouch-tutorial-and-etsy.html I freaked! It's exactly what I need, not to mention super easy to make!

I wanted it to be a little funky and fun, hence the crazy multiple fabrics. I don't want my school supplies to be boring if I can make them fun! (Especially since I LOVE my classes this semester!)

After I got done with that, I realized that I have had two fabrics sitting in my sewing room since before Christmas. My best friend's birthday happens to be the day AFTER Christmas. I had made her a ton of cute gifts for Christmas, but wanted to make her something for her birthday as well. Long story short, I got really busy with school and life and such and didn't get to make her the bday gift I had planned on. Sooooo, I decided a few days ago, it's time I get on it and make something for her. My best friend has a ton of makeup and a ton of nail polish. So, I wanted to make her a bag that she can use for either of those.

I found this tutorial online- http://www.noodle-head.com/2010/10/scrappy-make-up-pouch-tutorial_20.html and thought it was pretty cute, although I didn't box the corners at the bottom, since I wanted her to have as much room as she needs to hold stuff!

Enter the land of really pretty colors and patterns!

I had some fabric left over, so I decided to make her a small bag for her makeup brushes. I used the same pattern that I had used for my pencil bag.

They aren't perfect, but I'm loving each of these bags, none-the-less! Thanks for looking!

That is really pretty! It hangs nicely on you. I'm in love with the fabric. Did you need to line it, or was the fabric not super sheer? I always forget to line things until I put them on and realize you can see right through it! Either way, nicely done!
8  COOKING / Dessert / Re: 4th of july cake on: July 05, 2011 10:52:57 AM
I saw the  video on how to make this cake the other day. I wanted to make it so badly, but I didn't have time with all the other things I had going on. Yours came out really pretty! I love the stars on the icing. Perhaps next year I'll have time to make it!

Here's the link to the video I saw-

I'm in love with the color. So pretty! That dress looks better than a lot of store bought dresses I've seen. I can't even imagine making something without a pattern and having it come out that nice. Great job!

That is really pretty! I love the ruffles. You did a great job.
