31  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: My newest Polymer Clay Cake with a Pastry Bag!!! Plus Black & White cookie S on: August 23, 2009 04:47:38 PM
Thank you, thank you!!!

I am a cake decorator, so many times I would put my cakes in the freezer, so they would be easier to work with, but I had never thought of putting my polymer cakes in there!

I've been using a craft blade, but your probably right, it's probably not sharp enough.

Thanks for the texturing tip. Thanks so much for all of your tips.
P.S. Your cake looks wonderful!

I love the cross stitch project!

You know what I love even more? How you've wrapped it up! You did it so neatly!
33  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / My newest Polymer Clay Cake with a Pastry Bag!!! Plus Black & White cookie Studs on: August 23, 2009 01:57:22 PM
I feel that each time I make a new polymer clay food item, I get better and better.
Here is a picture of my mini Chocolate cake with coffee flavored butter-cream, with chocolate shavings on top, and a butter-cream "e" at the top, for Elizabeth(that's me!).
I've even made a pastry bag, and I didn't even use a tutorial!
Though I have to improve on cutting my slice out of the cake nicely, so that my layers don't get messed up. Any hints or techniques would be appreciated!!

I also created black and white cookie studs. As a native New Yorker, I had grown up on eating Black and White cookies as a dessert.

35  COOKING / Dessert / To me, this is kind of like dessert..... on: August 17, 2009 08:03:24 AM
I got a recipe from the King Arthur Flour website for a Challah Wreath which requires no kneading.

I topped my Challah off with cinnamon-sugar, instead of seeds. This is how it came out:

So because of the Cinnamon-Sugar I'll eat it for dessert!

I also made plain ones as well:

Here are pictures of my first polymer clay cake.

I used this tutorial, which helped A LOT!:

I know that over time I will get better and better, though I am pleased with the results of my first try.
I think I will glaze the decorations, and glue the slice and the whole cake onto a barrette.
40  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Quilling Mini Roses- My newest obsession on: August 07, 2009 03:41:21 PM
Thanks Meggageg! Quilling sure is fun!

Thank you MissDisney! How would you do the resin craft? Would you dip each rose in resin, and then hang it on a chain, or would you put them all together in the resin, and then have one big pendant? I've never used resin before!
