1  Re: For the love of Cupcakes round 3 gallery in The Swap Gallery by IMIS on: July 19, 2011 05:23:09 PM
Hi everyone! I received(really quickly!) from Kamehi today! Everything is so wonderful and beautiful.

Here is a group shot of all of the items:

Now for the detailed pictures:
Look at the great cupcake stickers and liners. I LOVE Wilton mini cupcake liners! And the large liners are fantastic!

Look at the great cupcake cell phone holder! It fits my phone PERFECTLY! It even velcros closed. And then some souvenirs from Hawaii. Can't wait to wear the flower pin! And the bookmark is gorgeous. Never seen anything like it.(it is made from Koa(warrior) wood!)

Apron and crocheted oven mit! Aren't these adorable? Now I can look fashionable while baking Smiley

Back of the apron, which can be adjusted by moving these cute pins:

And last but not least, the card and envelope she wrote in. Love this!

Thank you Kamehi! You were a wonderful swap partner  Smiley

4  Re: October 2009 Birthday Swap Gallery/discussion in The Swap Gallery by IMIS on: October 22, 2009 05:57:28 PM
I received from elociNNicole today! Her needle-felting kit is unbelievable!

First off, here is a similar picture to her teaser picture she had posted the other day. A box full of the wrapped goodies!(Love the wrapping paper!)

A birthday card!!!

elociNNicole said she uses this roving for the insides of her projects, but can be used as the actual roving as well!

Absolutely beautiful roving! The colors are gorgeous!

More roving! Unbelievably soft!

A really cool pin-cushion/jar. Now what is inside you ask..........

.......all of this! She created felted earrings, which I have never seen before(I've seen them in pictures, but never up close), needles, sizes 36, 38, and 40, and a razor for shaving fly-aways.

elociNNicole also included a tips booklet in the jar of tools. This is going to be so helpful.

I have also laid out the needles so you can see them. On the left we have size 36, in the middle, size 38, and on the right, size 40.

Instructions to make my own felted needles. She also provided yarn balls so that I can start on the project using those.

A really cool, pen style needle felting tool. It has 3 needles in this one pen!

And last but not least, foam! She provided two types: High density, and biodegradable.

I am so thrilled with this package! Thank you so much elociNNicole for all of your effort, thought, and time that you put into creating this kit/package for me!

6  Re: A Disney Trip to Remember: The Gallery in The Swap Gallery by IMIS on: October 16, 2009 01:07:22 PM
I am FINALLY getting a chance to post what I sent my partner.

A quilled card, mini sculpey Money Cristo sandwich with currant jelly sauce, Pirates of the Caribbean barrettes, Mickey Mouse and Donald stickers, a mod-podged frame, and a watercolor painting with a twist on Sleeping Beauty, where Stitch is the "prince", Peter Pan characters from the Disney Land ride Peter Pan's flight, and Big Thunder Railroad. There are also lanterns drawn because the background is of the Blue Bayou restaurant in Disney Land.

7  My newest Polymer Clay Cake with a Pastry Bag!!! Plus Black & White cookie Studs in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by IMIS on: August 23, 2009 01:57:22 PM
I feel that each time I make a new polymer clay food item, I get better and better.
Here is a picture of my mini Chocolate cake with coffee flavored butter-cream, with chocolate shavings on top, and a butter-cream "e" at the top, for Elizabeth(that's me!).
I've even made a pastry bag, and I didn't even use a tutorial!
Though I have to improve on cutting my slice out of the cake nicely, so that my layers don't get messed up. Any hints or techniques would be appreciated!!

I also created black and white cookie studs. As a native New Yorker, I had grown up on eating Black and White cookies as a dessert.

8  To me, this is kind of like dessert..... in Dessert by IMIS on: August 17, 2009 08:03:24 AM
I got a recipe from the King Arthur Flour website for a Challah Wreath which requires no kneading.

I topped my Challah off with cinnamon-sugar, instead of seeds. This is how it came out:

So because of the Cinnamon-Sugar I'll eat it for dessert!

I also made plain ones as well:

9  My first ever polymer clay cake!!! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by IMIS on: August 17, 2009 06:42:15 AM
Here are pictures of my first polymer clay cake.

I used this tutorial, which helped A LOT!:
http://minagi.hybridi.net/minagi/crafts/tuts/polycakes/polycakes.html

I know that over time I will get better and better, though I am pleased with the results of my first try.
I think I will glaze the decorations, and glue the slice and the whole cake onto a barrette.

I've discovered the art of quilling! I love quilling circles and all different shapes you can create out of a strips of paper. But I love quilling mini roses even more! Here are some pictures!!:

I will be making this into a pin or hair clip. This is a picture of a quilled rose on a base I had made out of polymer clay.
