22  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: I hate my bedroom on: August 08, 2013 02:23:08 PM
green... humm! may have to buy some dye! its hard to find black out curtains at the thirft store (which is my budget). What do you think of moving the bed to the other side where the dresser is? Oh wait I cant do that, too close to the door and I walk into it every night LOL
23  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / I hate my bedroom on: August 08, 2013 01:22:58 PM
I hate my bedroom!! I have no clue where anything should go in this weird little space! I also hate the colors! I have a lot of calming earth tones but its just not doing it for me anymore. I like the bed and dresser (very expensive). Im thinking of trying to hang some sort of curtains around the bed. Any ideas of what to do with the crappy yellow curtains? They serve the purpose of hidding the light, which is what I need due to sleeping hours.  I am toatally a diy-er so any project works. Also any ideas for a simple no sew bed skirt? My beds taller than most (for storage purposes)
shows the bed when it was lower and the nightstands. THe curtains are hung with wire (due to rental restrictions and I love the lamp
As you can see this corner displays alot of my tresures and books. I love that blue green color. I am not allowed to paint.

This is the layout of the room showing you all my whole problem! the windows and the baseboard heaters are my main problem. I cant  have the bed by a window in the winter because its too cold.  Im hoping to figure out a layout I can leave for awile!
24  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Folding a matress.... AND making it stay on: July 04, 2013 11:33:27 PM
Ok so I have a tiny ass guest bedroom. Its kinda a drop zone for extra fuinture (I love to swap out peices often). Ok so onto my problem... I have a full sized matress that needs to be folded into a couch for my guest room. I fold it and it springs back, I fold it again, it springs back.... You get the idea? I folded it and laid on it (i'm like 120 pounds)and it sorta stayed. Any ideas on how to get it to fold but in such a way that I can pop it back out for a guest to sleep on? (even though its kinda rare anyone tries to visit... constant state of work)
25  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / typewriter table to bar? on: May 19, 2013 08:42:54 PM
I have a very vintage Typewriter Table  that was rescued from my moms school. Its currently ugly grey. I intend to put a tray on the bottom but what should I paint it? I have a paris theme in my kitchen, and this table will be a bar cart that goes between there and my my black and burgendy living room. I was thinking black and pink mabey? Any ideas?

27  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / How to design around BURGENDY! on: April 20, 2013 03:28:00 PM
Ok I have a huge patio window. I was gifted a bunch of burgendy curtains. I was also gifted a couch cover in the same color (these were all family left overs). I have both in my living room and its begining to feel like icky! I want a change! I think the room needs some new paint on my big dresser and some funiture rearangment. On one wall I have a large tv on a cart, its flanked by two tall bookcases with a shelf on top (both have black sides but one has a white front and cant be spray painted). I have a futon for a chouch, a black mod endtable, a speaker stand (its grey and my other end table) along the other long wall. On the short wall that come off the kitchen (making up the 3rd wall) has a large dresser that holds board games. Its a pretty 60's style peice thats all black with tropical (dark) blue drawers. Along the patio wall sits the large patio door, and the heat registers. I also have a cat box wedged in the corner of this wall and the cats junk. In front of the patio door I have a plant stand and my favorite black chair. Any ideas? Pictures soon!

I have a mother load crammed under my bed that I would like to find a way to have them handy (we play those every saturday night, sometimes more)
