so I got a freebie table from my mom that was scratched and ugly. In all my young college glory I painted it black with a ugly blue striped box in the middle So its time to move out again after moving home and I CANT STAND this thing anymore. I need a new idea. I dont want to leave it plain black. I plan to sand it and repaint the base color black (matches the chairs). The kitchen is a coffee cafe type thing. Any ideas?

So I dont do cross stich but my boss had a very cool duck one that was half done. She gave it to me.... I want to finish it for my grandma for Christmas. So I have a color guide and  stich count. Whats the stich count mean? Also what does 1 stand and two stands mean? My kit came with all the thread stuff and a needle so im set there. Is there anything special I should know before I start?

so what can I do to this mirror to make it look better? To me its kinda plain and the one coner is chipped. It was a curbside recycled find.

So first does anyone remember where I saw this: someone had taken embrodery hoops and put black fabric in them then painted a tree a cross the multiple hoops.  I didnt bookmark it and I should have!
Also What colors would work in the hoops with a light blue (song blue sonata)  room with a yellow accent wall (cressent delta moon). Thanks in advance

I had to move back with my parnet (and her sister, and her sisters 12 and 10 year old) recently and am now the proud renter of a 10 by 10 hole in the basement.  Its a very small room, my full size bed takes up most of it. I use this room alot to hang out with freinds in too (I have cousins living in the house, who dont know what GO AWAY means). So the room must be funcitional to hang out, have a little romantic fun   and must be clean.  I do have the option of replacing the bed with a double thickness futon. I also have the option of adding a bookcase (or two) and have a few storage benches that can go in there. I just dont know where to start!

This is curently the very unmade bed (BAD ME!) you can also see the curtained nightstand next to the bed. THe white bookcase holds some photo albums and my camera collection. The black chair (under the pile of blankets) must stay since its the one chair my back can handle.

Photo 2 is the other side of the room. You can see my blue dresser (matches the walls) and my mirror. This is my makeup area. (the mirror is actually a medicine cabinate, aka storage). THe stand next to the dresser seems to be a catch- all for all kinds of crap but has yet to get a real purpose

Photo 3 is a close up of the tv area with my fav. frame (with the stars inside. This area also has a window in it but it is never used. I was thinking I may replace the fish tank stand with a bookcase for extra storage (but dont know if it will look funny cause its not as tall as the one on the other side. It cant be painted) I have also thought about painting the bookcase in ther already.

Photo 4 shows my epic fail attempt at putting up a cushion on the wall. it also shows the boxes I tried to use for a nightstand (another epic fail) and my horse tack collection, which is staying. The cushion has a cover and the quilt for the bed is a nice solid black cover.

I dont wanna put holes in it. I treid using wire to go around it and tying the wire on a nail. GOod in theroy but it sags down.  cushion looks like this:http://fabrikate.net/IMG_4638.JPG its big enough for a single person to lay down and just under 5 ft tall.  so how do I get the bugger to day up?

will there be a summer swap? I would love to praticipate but want to do it when the vistior would get to see somthing fun

So I have the smallest closet in the house. Its a fun 5 feet long BUT only 2 feet deep! Problem is I dont have any hanging clothes in it so its large free space. I have a plastic shelving unit that holds almost everything but everythimg keeps falling out! On the other side of the closet I have my dresser. I have no room to put the dresser anywere else. Any ideas? Im sick of picking my wardrobe off the floor and not being able to find anything.  Ps. Only my winter wardrobe is in the closet right now

so far 2 weeks in and I havent had anyone venture over my line. I think there afraid of what may kill them if they do. I guess decking out my whole area in crafty themed skulls (im a forensic pathology student) helped too.

I needed a home for my plants and a place to mount a grow lamp and also a place (higher up) for the hamster to live. So I got out some 2x4's and got to work and came up with this.
