21  Lving room orgizartion in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by flying_babyb on: March 26, 2009 07:28:54 PM

The thing by the ottomen is a big ole floor cussion.  The room is oddly shapped due to the hallway. The big couch is a futon. There is lamps on both sides of the endtables (floor lamps). Theres also a lamp behind the love seat. All the funiture must stay. I would like to leave the ottomen where it is because its wedged nicley under my  air conditner (Impractical at times but the kids (who sit on it) dont care). The kitchen can be blocked a bit if nessacary. The stand in the kitchen is movable and home to hammy butt. Oh yea and both the sofa and loveseat must stay! I have a sister with 4 kids.

22  livchen? Help with living room/ kitchen in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by flying_babyb on: March 08, 2009 01:26:13 PM
Its snowing here so its a great day to redo a room!

Heres the living room. Note the fact that when I took my picture you can see the kitchen table, the rooms are side by side.

footstool and annoying air conditioner

couch

chair

Love seat (the peice that started the burgendy.

End tables, one on each side of the couch

cofee table. Just painted it black and burgendy (well it looks more burnt seina)

Tv stand that I just lvoed,. I love the clean lines and the  fact I assembled it myself

Kitchen veiw from couch

the kitchen storage thing (and hammy home holder)

the kitchen table (notice how the black contunies in the chairs)
And

The stools that need somthing.....
Colors in the room are burgendy (couch, table, footstool, curtains), Black,(tv stand, coffee table, side tables, chair, stool), and turquoise (trays, chair, lamps), and a little purple (throw pillows, stool top). There are curtains that are going to go up.  kitchen is blacks, browns, COFFEE...

The main issue is how to make the living room and kitchen flow since there like one long room.  Also should I put a curain under the tv stand to hide the stuff? Should I repaint the kitchen stools legs to somthing other than gold? does the living room need more seating?

23  Storage? (now with pics, lots of um) in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by flying_babyb on: March 07, 2009 11:03:17 AM
What do you all do for storage? I have four closets and NOT ENOUGH SPACE!! I dont get it, i got rid of alot, I think im using my current storage incorectly. I have to store: craft books and magizines, board games, school stuff, clothes, outdoor stuff, towels, cat food, sheets, you know closetly stuff.

half of what was suposte to be a craft closet (shelf on top)

the other half of my suposta be craft closet

cabinate that used to hold craft supplies but now holds a assortment of stuff and my dollhouse funiture (a hobby)

the hall closet (sheets on top, pets next, towels, tools, pet stuff)

hall closet close up

Closet is as long as the room. The stuff on the floor NEEDS to go in the closet, was thinking of swicthing the small shelving unit from there with the bigger one in the craft closet.

there is another small closet thats a coat/storage closet. I need a home for my sewing machine and would love to have the whole place more functional. It irrates me that my craft room is unusable due to the storage issue. I need some new ideas. Im on a budget. It irrates me that theres no table in the craft room but its hard becasuse its a very small room with a futon and bookcase and the big black box and a storage cube (holds work papers)

I bought these uber cool sheet metal edges to make a photo ledge. Little did I relize they wernt deep enough (remideyed with plyers) but now all my pics lean forward and fall easily. HELP! how do I keep these up and working for my purpose? I love the industral look.

This is the peice. The bottom is flat with a half lip and then a mesh back

the peice with a single frame that dosent show that they falll off the wall.

the whole long peice.

There is a second one that still needs to go up but when the first one failed to perform I figured I would get help before mounting the second.

I have 20  8 by 10 frames that must all hang in a pefect pattern on a board on a wall. There arranged in 4 rows of 5. Thing is the tape i used (heavy duty wall mount) is letting loose and there all falling down. So how to I rehang them just like this?

This is when the tape held. Im trying to keep them on the board so they dont make a mess of the wall since I rent.
