1  Hate my living/dining/ crap space in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by flying_babyb on: June 01, 2014 04:19:59 PM

Everything serves double duty, end tables hold blankets, coffee table gets eaten on, couch is a futon, trunk holds bedding for futon, tv stands all storage...
I hate how this room (er rooms?) is layed out. Its very open concept. THe only thing I dont wanna move is my entry bench. any ideas? its only 500 sq feet so storage is importatnt.

2  bed placement! help me decide in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by flying_babyb on: August 24, 2013 06:04:15 PM
Ok Im down to three options!! I figured since I couldnt decide mabey my freinds here could.  I think one works best but Im not sure. I share my room with 3 very irrating cats, 2 of which share my bed.  this room also has a mushroom chair and lamp (reading area) and a alter area (Im a witch). Each square is 5 inches. Which means the long wall is 15 ft and the short wall is 11.5 feet. Bed is a queen (and I will not go smaller!)

The first option is the bed over by the wall with the dresser at the foot of the bed. I want the dresser by the bed for the cats sake since my bed is higher than normal (and the fancy mirror that attaches to the back is broken)

Option 2 is:
The bed in the same spot with the dresser along the long side of the bed, making the only way into the bed from the foot of the bed. In this option I wouldnt need a night stand. The dresser would partially obstruct the view of the door (which is bad according to feng- shui)

option 3:
The bed in front of the window, dresser along the side. KInda feels silly and blocks most of the window (but the light wouldnt be in my face to wake me up, I sleep PAST sunrise)

3  I hate my bedroom in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by flying_babyb on: August 08, 2013 01:22:58 PM
I hate my bedroom!! I have no clue where anything should go in this weird little space! I also hate the colors! I have a lot of calming earth tones but its just not doing it for me anymore. I like the bed and dresser (very expensive). Im thinking of trying to hang some sort of curtains around the bed. Any ideas of what to do with the crappy yellow curtains? They serve the purpose of hidding the light, which is what I need due to sleeping hours.  I am toatally a diy-er so any project works. Also any ideas for a simple no sew bed skirt? My beds taller than most (for storage purposes)
shows the bed when it was lower and the nightstands. THe curtains are hung with wire (due to rental restrictions and I love the lamp
As you can see this corner displays alot of my tresures and books. I love that blue green color. I am not allowed to paint.

This is the layout of the room showing you all my whole problem! the windows and the baseboard heaters are my main problem. I cant  have the bed by a window in the winter because its too cold.  Im hoping to figure out a layout I can leave for awile!

5  HELP! what do I do with this horible room? in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by flying_babyb on: August 15, 2012 05:34:48 PM

layout

This is the wall crossed from the bed. The entertainment center holds my books, cds, wine bottles, DVDs, and video games. The second tv unfortunately is a necessity so I can watch DVDs (my player is incompatible with my newer tv)

This is the wall next to the door. The huge dresser works great to hold all my clothes. With the door open (which it usually is) you dont see all the clothes and message boards hanging there.

The bed does fold up to a futon (and is usually made),  There is not junk on the floor most of the time and a small table that goes next to the black chair (aka my desk)

I dont like this room at all right now. I want to keep the colors (turquoise, brown, black, and cranberry) but am willing to repaint stuff. Everything serves a purpose, if not two! I am intending to move out hopefully by Christmas so I dont want to do anything major. Any ideas on how to fix my little dump? the quilt is solid black and could use some sprucing.

6  Vintage looking flowers? Yea! free! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by flying_babyb on: August 15, 2012 03:40:55 PM
I had a bunch a zip tie leftovers (only used the zipper part) so I had these 4 inch parts left over. It seemed like such a waste to toss them so I grabbed some tape, taped them then well....

Totally dosent do them justice! they just shimmer so bright when ever the lights are on. Took me less than a hour (not including dry time) to make them! Easy and fun!

9  basement craft space in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by flying_babyb on: October 09, 2010 10:51:02 AM
How do I make this disaster into a craft space? I have gotten premission to cover the wall under the stairs. I also intend to extend the shelf under the stairs out for a desk. The metal thing is open on the other side so it can be used to hold magizines. Should I spray paint it? As the second picture shows, im stuck dealing with old pipes and only get a curtain for a side wall. my space is about 7 feet deep and around 8 ft accrossed. What can I do to make this look less basementy and more crafty? I do have a rug that will cover some of the floor.
