1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Best kind of Mannequin? on: April 14, 2007 09:05:01 AM
Hi guys,
i am sorry if i am repeating another topic, but i did not find this topic if it exists. I want to buy a mannequin. But i have no idea where to start. Should it be adjustable? Which is the best brand? Which ones are durable? If anyone has any recommendations, i would be most obliged.
thanks all!
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / How do i say no?!? on: January 25, 2007 09:49:54 AM
Hey guys,
I looked and i didn't find a thread on this topic - I'm so sorry if i have simply overlooked it and it really was there.
Here is my situation: my boyfriend's mother keeps asking me to sew things for her home. At first it was just a table cloth. But the projects have gotten larger and the keep coming. (I am afraid i may have exacerbated the problem when I made for Christmas last year a quilted throw fro their couch.) But her requests mean that when i can fit some time for sewing into my insanely busy schedule, I have to sew her things instead of being able to spend time on things I genuinely want to sew (goodness knows I have a list from here to the moon of things I want to make).

I'm at a bit of a loss for how to politely say no. We already have a bit...strained relationship because of religion difference issues. Oh and I should mention I see her quite regularly because my boyfriend's brother goes to high school with me. And it occurs to me she might be thinking that this is a 'nice way to connect' or something. But it is not nice for me at all. Especially because she will pay for the materials but never compensate me for my time. Do you guys have suggestions? Thank you SO VERY MUCH in advance.
Peace.
