1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: I have the 1st issue of CRAFT magazine from creators of MAKE on: October 20, 2006 02:11:16 PM
This was posted by the Associate editor of Craft's website:

As for subscriptions, we collect names and send out issues every 2 weeks. Depending on when you subscribed, it could take anywhere from 4-6 weeks.
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: glittery shoe mess on: October 03, 2006 03:29:39 AM
Been there Done that, with however more success (sneakers).
That's the problem you're get with spray adhesive, it gets everywhere (Fingers/hands & workspace espescially), & I've done it before, with other projects as well. My advice, wait a little bit (but not too long or you won't get it permanent) & try to keep the nozzle clean after other applications (that's my biggest problem.)
3  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Re: Craft Book Challenge on: August 05, 2006 02:53:20 PM
I kinda like that idea.  I knit and I've noticed that a lot of people have altered designs they found in Stitch & Bitch and I think that would be a good theme for a challenge.  You could use the idea from the book as a guide and then add your own spin on it.

I like this idea, but I think there would be a problem with the knitters all submitting SNB stuff...there would inevitably be duplicates...then how do you judge? Maybe the person who does the best "spiffing up" of the project...??

Um.. Kinda "Been There, Done That" with the S n'B books on Craftster. Which is why I excluded them (including the most recent crocheting book) anyway.
4  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Craft Book Challenge on: May 30, 2006 03:23:39 PM
Partially inspired by the latest Craft challenge (& Leah's new book), how about basing a challenge on a particular craft book with participants making/baking/creating one particular project out of choice book.

Some Possible book choices:
"Bazaar Bizarre" Greg Der Ananian (I think that's how it's spelled)
"Supercrafty" PDXSuperCrafty
"Stupid Sock Creatures" John Murphy
"Generation T" Megan Nicolay or
"Tease: 50 Inspired T-Shirt Transformations" Sarah Sockit for those T-Shirt minded.
"Alternacrafts" Jessica Vitkus
"Hardwear: Jewelry From A Toolbox" Hannah Rogge
The "ReadyMade" book for something heavy duty 9I also can't think of the actual title)

These are just some in my immediate collection of books. Any other suggestions are welcome.
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab (BPAL) swap on: March 17, 2006 03:02:52 AM
Thank You! Because I've had a rather awkward & hectic week (Grandmother passed away Sunday and we're getting ready for the funeral tomorrow). I still like all the ideas you posted & am sure to sign up for it.

I'm still for it, although I'm not on Craftster very much any more (I'm just not checking it every single day) & I halted doing swaps for the time being.

Oh, I since added two more (10ml) oils to my collection (Dana O'Shee & Moon Rose)
7  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Voulez Vous Crochet Avec Moi? Call for submissions for next SnB book on: February 23, 2006 11:30:37 AM
I didn't get a chance to reply any sooner, because my computer was acting funny & I didn't want to get on (Craftster) until it was rebooted, But I just got the book last Saturday. I love it & already want to try a couple of projects.

9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / ALERT: PayPal Spoof Scare on: January 11, 2006 10:17:45 AM
This isn't really Craft-related but, since so many use PayPal, I had to post this.

Monday afternoon, I got 2 E-Mails claiming to be from PayPal, warning of an "account Violation" & in order "activate" my account (like, BIG red Flag), I must click on a link, or "PayPal" will freeze it within 3 days. A call to PayPal, the next morning, did reveal it to be nothing more than fraudulent & I did e-mail it back to them as was advised..

A guy in Lincoln had his entire bank account emptied as a result of another "PayPal" E-mail, so needless to say I was concerned.
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Craftsters with Disabilities on: December 22, 2005 03:26:58 AM
I've been of Craftster now for well over a year,  but I haven't seen much of any craftsters with disabilities, like myself (More physical ones than mental). Myself, I have Cerebral Palsy, but it's more physical than anything else. Giving me quite the amount of balance issues (I've been known to "pirouette" before falling to the ground) & tripping over things, including my own feet, despite surgery to "correct" my Achilles' tendons (in both feet, It has helped somewhat however), just before entering Junior High.
