oooh!  so nice to know I'm not the only dollar store maven Wink  That's beautiful - the clasp-covering flower really makes it.  You've planted an idea in my brain, now. It's almost time for my next dollar store raid.  hmmm...

I love the tulip one!  the choice of metals makes it, as I believe someone might've said farther up.

Still - so cool!

Hey, everyone!  I wanted to see if I could get any feedback for this brooch.  It's something of a departure for me, creatively - in fact, when I was making it it had about 3 other projects branch off it.

Happy me, crowded worktable.  You know how it is!  Let me know what you think:

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Sticky Drawers/Adventures in shellac on: December 10, 2007 11:31:48 AM
They feel dry when I touch them.  It's when they are inserted that they stick.  I let it dry for a few days, then did a test drive putting in and taking out the drawers...I'll check again in a couple minutes - maybe it needed a much longer settign time than i thought. Hmmm

thank you ^_^
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Sticky Drawers/Adventures in shellac on: December 07, 2007 03:59:22 PM
(If this is covered in another forum or even in a FAQ, please point my newbie butt towards it - my apologies if this is in the wrong spot!)

I recently repainted an old wooden jewelry box, and it turned out well. But I shellac'd it and now its drawers are getting mighty sticky.  What on earth do I do now?  I had some limited success with a tiny trinket box (I roughed up the edges with an emery board a little) - but I would like something a little more...professional?  nondamaging?

Thank you for your patience Smiley

Thank you both!  I'm throwing myself back into the ring - I think I'll try the spray-paint thing first, 'cause something tells me it might be cheaper.  Wink

Those are lovely - the small book looks maddeningly difficult to do, though!

Hey, everyone - I've finally decided to de-lurk with this, the finsihed product of my first bookmaking experience.  Here's a link to the image, as i dont have enough posts to stick it in here yet:

Pardon it's blurriness - I used my phone's cam and he mod-podge was still drying on the cover....questions, comments, and general hobnobbing are welcome Wink  I'll be perusing all appropriate faq's to find anything better than modpodge for this.  I'm "so" doing it again when I have the time!

Cheers,
Liz
