8  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / My first project of 2007...a very Fat Bottom Bag!! on: January 16, 2007 08:50:05 PM
I got the book 2 weeks ago, Thursday night, started Friday morning and just finished a few hours ago.

I used 3 strands of Monaco Soft Mercerized Cotton Thread in lt. celery and the handles I snagged from a bag UFO...gonna make that one a fat bottom too.

Since the hook used was a G, I had to compensate. Well, I think I over-compensated, but that's more space for me to make my fat bottom purse fatter!

I had a hard time with the Hhdc, so I just used regular hdc...probably should have lined it before making the handles, but this was my first one!!

Now that I know how to make one, I will be able to adjust the pattern to fit the yarns/threads I have (now I know what to do with all my leftover balls of thread! Too bad I gave a lot away already).  And line them, of course!!

I am thinking of making a big flower button and crochet a sturdy loop as my closures, but the jury is still out on that one.
