51  Those fake credit cards that come in the mail... in Completed Projects by RedMenace on: October 25, 2006 09:51:59 AM
My fiance recently started playing guitar, but he kept losing his picks around the house, so I decoupaged an Altoids tin, and he found a bunch of fake credit cards to cut up, and voila! No more pick shortage!

Top of box (with ephemera from bands he likes):

The picks!

52  Halloween "painted" cookies in Halloween Decor and Parties by RedMenace on: October 16, 2006 06:14:19 PM
I work at a high-falutin' bakery where one of my many jobs is to paint the holiday cookies. I was so scared to mess up when I first started (the girl who taught me was a cookie goddess), but I've overcome my cookie-related anxiety, and am very proud of the results.

Here's looking at you...

Even ghosts are afraid of spiders

Just a few random favorites.

I also did pumpkins, black cats, severed hands(!), and all yer standard Halloweenie shapes. Hope you like 'em!

54  Bowie Bear in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by RedMenace on: September 30, 2006 10:41:22 AM
He started life as an ordinary bear, but then I bought some crazy orange mohair yarn, and his life has not been the same since.

that's a lotta hair...

This poor bear is having such an identity crisis. He was supposed to be a sorta glam rock bear, but everyone thinks he's a lion on Rogaine.  Smiley

55  Not so ugly duckling in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by RedMenace on: September 25, 2006 09:22:16 PM
I had been considering learning to crochet for a while, but when I came across this pattern, I knew it was time. I didn't really follow the pattern, as much as just look at the picture and improvise as necessary ("necessary" only because I'm attention-challenged  Tongue) So here he is:

my first crochet project... I call him Albert because his hair reminds me of Einstein's.

56  Re: In Memorandum of Steve Erwin...Croc Hunter in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by RedMenace on: September 06, 2006 12:23:29 PM
Great idea. I've had this little crocodile bead sitting in my stash forever, so I tied on a little black ribbon, glued on a pin back, and made this:

Rest in peace, Steve.
