12  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Dog Sweater...pattern said whaaaaatttt???? on: March 01, 2009 08:00:04 PM
I'm working on this pattern for a sweater for my pup, and I got to the leg shaping section. It says to work each section separately. How do I go from section to section without the string stretching across the gap?

Could someone help me out with this pattern?
http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Crochet/Projects/AfghansThrows/WR1680+Crochet+Austrian+Sleigh+Robe.htm

I understand how to do the green square strips and the white and the bobbles and all that, but when it comes to making the holly pattern over the white...all this pattern does is show me the grid of the pattern but not if it is cross stitch or something else...can someone please explain it to me and if you know what it is how to do it? or a link on how to do this part of the pattern?

many many thanks in advance!!

this is the 2nd sweater in a month that i've grossly over estimated my own fatness, i really need to just go with the measurements and not try to add extra

i know what you mean...ive learned to remind myself to trust the pattern...it has become my mantra when doing a new project and i cant see how what ive done will turn into what it looks like in the picture.

I started making yo-yo's yesterday.  I did 40 and today I weaved in all the tails.  I'm thinking of sewing 9 together in a diamond shape and then crochet all of the diamonds together.  I can picture  this in my mind but I'm not sure exacly how to do it.  got a long way to go.

i think if you sew them into a diamond with  a neutral color, or maybe if you make the diamonds all the same color and sew them together with that color, and then out line each of the diamonds in a contrasting color like black then you would be able to tell they are arranged in diamonds...does that make sense?
