11  Re: everybody needs a hug sometimes....NOW WITH "PATTERN" a bit down the page in Knitting: Completed Projects by vasetthi on: March 18, 2006 10:40:11 AM
Ok - here's my version.  I knit it from front to back, instead of side to side.  I also added some ribbing on the sleeves.

I think it looks a little weird when I'm just standing normal:

I guess I'll have to walk around with my hands on my hips all the time!
Thanks, ambear, for this idea.  It was a nice quick knit that produced something unique to wear!

12  Peppermint Twist IP in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by vasetthi on: March 02, 2006 10:47:43 PM
Hey -

I'm working on Peppermint Twist from SnB (taking forever, but good to work on while watching the L Word on DVD...).  I'm pretty new to knitting, and this is my first attempt at a sweater.  It seems to be going well, but I have a couple questions about finishing (which I know won't be happening for a while!).
1. What kind of stitch do I use to sew up the seams?  I recently made Hot Head and used the mattress stitch, but it seems like that might produce seams too bulky for a light sweater like this.
2. Do I really have to weave in all those ends?  Please tell me there's some savvy craftster loophole or shortcut.  That's my least favorite part about knitting so far.
3. Any other tips I should know about seaming a sweater?

Here's a pic of what I have done so far (hopefully this works - this is my first post ever).  Thanks you guys!
