Most projects it depends on what I'm making, but I'm always using up the leftovers into scrap pieces for scrap afghans and I always use G hooks for those.  That way I never have to guess what hook I was using for them.  Right now I'm making a Spiderman Round Robin with H, a 'larger scrap' afghan with J, hats with H, and the smaller scrap pieces with G.  And the hooks always stay with the project.  If I put it aside for a while, the hook stays with it.  That's why I have so many of each size, How many times do I have to explain that to the hubby?  LOL

Me: "I need to buy some yarn and another crochet hook"

My boyfriend "Don't you already have like 10 of them

Me: "They come in different sizes"

Boyfriend "...how many???" because he knows I will not stop until I have them all!  MWAHAHAHAH

But...like he should talk. I collect crochet hooks and knitting needles. He collects guitars. GUITARS! Knitting needles and crochet hooks--like 5 dollars max. Guitar...THOUSANDS!

...seriously...

Just a thought. Putting it out there.

Back in the day the thing that brought me to craftster was searching and finding one of these swap forums. It was for a swap where the participants buy a thrift store purse and then mail it to their partner. Their partner then fancies it up to something awesome and sends it back.

I have also seen this done with thrift store art.

But what if we did this as some kind of stash busting exercise. I know we all have things we have carried with us through the crafting years that we know has potential, but we just haven't found that potential yet.

Something alone the lines of filling up a us priority box or something, and sending it, and your partner must create awesomeness from what is inside, and then send it back to their partner

Other rules or things might apply...for example maybe your partner can request at least one item (for example a knitter can ask that her package receives yarn to work with).

I was also part of those scavenger hunt swaps from a while back...we could introduce some scavenger hunt elements to it if we wanted.

It's funny because I only ever use the Bates hooks. I haven't really tried to use anything else...but I bet if I did I would have a fit because it wasn't the same.

So, I was crocheting along today starting what I'm sure will become yet another WIP hangin out in my closet when I realized that I ALWAYS use the G hook...

Same here...the scarf is pretty simple but the yarn is great (I think at least)

Um...I have a question. I work 9-6 so it might be harder for me to post office anything as opposed to send it through my company that uses fed-ex or DHL...am I allowed? If not, no biggie I'll just lunch break it, I just wondered.

I am like...10 or so rows...before finishing. I got really far in one day, and now every time I pick it up I get interupted. Bah!

So...I lost my tweezers and the eyebrows were running amuck....

I used my needle nose pliers.

The sick thing is...I might prefer them...more grabbie...

I once stashed a pair of chopsticks in my needles for this very purpose....but never did it. Good Job.
