Hi, just wondering if you were able to find a local chapter?? My BBBB is finally ready to be mailed off - am so excited!

Hi..I have been working on the BBBB for a couple of weeks and all along just haven't known who to give it to..I have a bunch of frineds who are pregnant and a baby of my own, but just couldn't decide who was to be it's future owner. Anyhow, was browsing over some links referenced in "the joy of knitting" (a great read by the way) and found PROJECT LINUS. They collect donated blankets of basically any size and give them to 0-18 year olds in need. You should read some of the letters posted..there is one from a premmie ward nurse who states she has seen tiny babies grow calm and their pulses increase when they have a special blanket; how these blankets brigten up the sterile wards and unfortunatly how sometimes it becomes the only thing parents take home with them after the loss of a sick baby. I have a baby who is 18 months old, so was getting so fed up with looking for the exact yarn only to find out it was very expensive and potentially could casue allergies from the lanolin in the yarn! I'll post a pic later on, but it's looking great and is super soft and cuddy.

I had actually emailed Debbie herself   and she suggested any light worsted weight for this project would be fine...howz that..she replied to me. Am so proud to have an email from her. Haven't replied..am trying to think up something profound and wonderful  

I am using one single strand of the "walmart wonder"! I'll get hubby to post a picture of my half finished project later on today. The yarn the pattern suggests is soo fine that this single strand is working out great.  

I am making the BBBB using yarn from Wal Mart and it's looking great! I drove myself crazy looking for the perfect yarn, then realized what I needed was soft, washable and durable. Love this stuff..it's BERNAT SOFTEE BABY and cost about $3.00 and what's even better is that you get 140g/5oz, so it looks like I'll only need 2 to complete the BBBB.  

Have gotten close with my LYS and took it in to show them and hear over and over again what a mistake I had made, and they admitted it was great yarn!
