2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Wee Kilt for a Scottish Sock Monkey Groom on: October 20, 2012 07:47:02 PM
Recently, I received a request I just could not refuse. A young woman who was getting married told me that on her first date, with her now fiance, he had bought her a sock monkey. Now that they were getting married, they wanted to 'kit' him out with a kilt, tie and top hat and commission a sock monkey bride for him.

I love a challenge! So, I figured out how kilts are made and even happen find the right color tartan in a mini print. Here is the result.   Cheesy

To see the little kilt in 360˚ there is a 17 sec video

Thanks for looking!

p.s. The sock monkey modeling the groom outfit was just a stand-in and not as big around as the real groom Smiley
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Party Favor for Open House on: June 14, 2012 03:06:11 PM
Thanks!
The project was not too hard, really. One of the hardest parts was figuring out everyone's favorite color for the thread.
I was nervous to cut the felt- and not every square was perfect, but I kept the slightly skewed ones for myself. Wink

As to keeping track of drinks- everyone took their coaster on the way in and set it under their drink wherever they were sitting.
We had a couple of guests with the same name (2 Jasons and 2 Franks) so that was what gave me the idea to do everyones name is different colors. Smiley
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Party Favor for Open House on: June 14, 2012 10:34:01 AM
We recently had an Open House to celebrate buying our first house and our 20th Anniversary.
I wanted to have a little party favor for everyone to take home and some way for our guests to keep track of their beer, wine ect...
I had seen this gorgeous 5mm felt and thought that would be perfect - if I could cut it well enough- and if my machine could sew through it to letter it.

What do you think?

Everyone took them home - so I think they liked them. Smiley

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Emoticon Status Update Tissue Cover on: May 26, 2011 08:48:34 AM
I made this tissue cover for my mom. She loves facebook. (which I am still surprised at)

It has a Happy face on one side and a Sad face on the other side.
So it's kind of like a status update for your desk. Wink

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / I play Dr. Frankenstein w/ a Head Transplant! on: May 11, 2011 08:15:58 PM
Poor little Julia had a tragic run-in with the family dog and was almost totally destroyed.
Her person did her best to patch her up- but she needed a bit more help.
I was happy to help - but it was clear she would need a whole new body.

Here is her head with her new body
