1  Wee Kilt for a Scottish Sock Monkey Groom in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tamara-loves-monkeys on: October 20, 2012 07:47:02 PM
Recently, I received a request I just could not refuse. A young woman who was getting married told me that on her first date, with her now fiance, he had bought her a sock monkey. Now that they were getting married, they wanted to 'kit' him out with a kilt, tie and top hat and commission a sock monkey bride for him.

I love a challenge! So, I figured out how kilts are made and even happen find the right color tartan in a mini print. Here is the result.   Cheesy

To see the little kilt in 360˚ there is a 17 sec video

Thanks for looking!

p.s. The sock monkey modeling the groom outfit was just a stand-in and not as big around as the real groom Smiley

2  Party Favor for Open House in Party Planning by tamara-loves-monkeys on: June 14, 2012 10:34:01 AM
We recently had an Open House to celebrate buying our first house and our 20th Anniversary.
I wanted to have a little party favor for everyone to take home and some way for our guests to keep track of their beer, wine ect...
I had seen this gorgeous 5mm felt and thought that would be perfect - if I could cut it well enough- and if my machine could sew through it to letter it.

What do you think?

Everyone took them home - so I think they liked them. Smiley

4  Emoticon Status Update Tissue Cover in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by tamara-loves-monkeys on: May 26, 2011 08:48:34 AM
I made this tissue cover for my mom. She loves facebook. (which I am still surprised at)

It has a Happy face on one side and a Sad face on the other side.
So it's kind of like a status update for your desk. Wink

5  I play Dr. Frankenstein w/ a Head Transplant! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tamara-loves-monkeys on: May 11, 2011 08:15:58 PM
Poor little Julia had a tragic run-in with the family dog and was almost totally destroyed.
Her person did her best to patch her up- but she needed a bit more help.
I was happy to help - but it was clear she would need a whole new body.

Here is her head with her new body

7  40th Anniversary Party- Photo booth Huge Hit! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by tamara-loves-monkeys on: January 19, 2011 09:13:44 PM
We recently had a great time at party for my parents 40th anniversary.
The DIY photo booth was the hit of the party. My brother and I made a backdrop from a couple of fleece blankets from Ikea.

Here are a couple of the shots of the guests

We had a chalkboard for people to write a message if they wanted-
Everyone loved it!

Here is a shot of the decorations

8  My first Jewelry Project- Guitar Pick Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by tamara-loves-monkeys on: March 31, 2010 11:34:33 AM
I have been trying to learn to play guitar for about 6 months. I am still awful at it, but luckily- I am stubborn.

In an attempt to avoid actual guitar practice but still stay somewhat related, I decided to make a bracelet that would tell the world how cool I am for playing guitar.  Here it is.

It's made from sterling silver and rubber.

Here it is on my pale freckle riddin skin

I made one for my friend who is learning to play with me. And my guitar teacher (who performs and stuff) thought it was cool and asked for one too. I happily made him one as well.
Thanks for looking!
