Gorgeous! I especially love the third from the bottom (blue and gold) and the tree pendant! You have a great style!

24  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sweeney Todd Knits. on: January 12, 2008 11:58:22 PM
I JUST got home from seeing Sweeney Todd. OMG- LOVED it.

I've been on a fingerless glove kick (made 4 pairs in about 2 months)- and I definitely noticed the ones in the movie. Mr. T's looked to have seed stitch instead of a normal ribbing. The rest of it doesn't look like stockinette though, it looks more woven or something. And I loved Anthony's pair with the cables- they reminded me of the Irish Hiking Scarf pattern. Hmmm... I might have to make myself a pair!

I actually have to say it bothered me to see Mrs. Lovett knead dough while wearing her fingerless gloves.  tell me how you're supposed to get dough and flour out of a mesh knit??

I thought the exact same thing!
25  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Christmas Baking; Ideas Needed! on: December 14, 2007 11:25:07 AM
The Barefoot Contessa's Pecan Bars. I made these for the x-mas party at work last year and they were legendary. People are still talking about them a year later (and I made them again for this years party). The recipe makes a ton, so there is plenty for gifts. Beware- the recipe calls for A LOT of butter (2.25 lbs to be exact), but it makes an 18x20 pan and they're very rich so I cut them into tiny squares.

Here's the recipe:

This year I'm going to drizzle them with chocolate instead of dipping the bar and add a sprinkle of kosher salt on top (because salted caramel is the best thing ever).

I still have to make Chocolate Crackle Cookies, Rum-Currant Shortbread, and my new favorite Gingerbread (with Guinness). Whew! How long until x-mas??

Good luck with the holiday baking!

28  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Post Photos of Your Tattoos! on: November 11, 2007 03:41:30 PM

It looks awesome already! I love Phoenix's I just got one a few months ago, my first tattoo also. I'm going to have to tell my hubby I'm not the only one who got a big phoenix for their first tattoo, he thought I was nuts for going large on my first.

Wow! Your phoenix is beautiful! And on your ribs, too. Talk about going balls out for your first tattoo! I think a phoenix is very appropriate for a first tattoo- the beginning of the transformation process. I just went back today for some black and gray shading. I haven't fully decided on my colors yet, so I'm going to wait a little while.

Everyone on here has such lovely tattoos!  Smiley

I got the outline of my Phoenix yesterday. It's my first tattoo and I'm totally in love with it!

I'm going back in a few weeks to start on the color. I can't wait for it to be finished!
