1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / looking for a specific tea cosy pattern on: October 17, 2006 10:59:09 AM
Hiya, my friend is looking for this:

"a knitting pattern for a traditional tea cosy. It is in two colours and looks
like a set of pipes joined together is the best way I can describe it."

Does that sound familiar to any of you?

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / painting wooden clothes hangers on: January 16, 2006 09:34:07 AM
Hello! I've painted some wooden clothes hangers and I'm wondering what kind of finish I should put on them? I don't want the paint to rub off on the clothes, know what I mean? Any suggestions?

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / cables and colours on: June 04, 2005 09:53:06 PM
Does the effect of cabling look better on lighter and brighter colours than black or navy?  (I hope this hasn't already been covered a million times, did a quick search.)

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / use a potato or onion sac on: February 09, 2005 07:15:37 AM
I've got Retro Revamp and want to make a bag out of it.  The pattern says to start with a potato or onion bag and then sew table cloth vinyl onto it.  I can't picture what kind of potato or onion bag this might be, any clues?  There are some that are plasticy mesh and some are paper with a mesh window.  Are there other kinds in the US?  Or I am incapable of imagining?
9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / non-fraying fabric on: January 20, 2005 07:01:02 AM
Anyone know of a fabric that doesn't fray?  I've used that liquid that stops frays but the chemical smell bugs me plus it makes the fabric a little stiff....
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / "join yarn" on: October 25, 2004 06:16:15 AM
What does "join yarn" mean?  It's for picking up and working on stitches that are on a stitch holder, some are attached to the work and some stitches were made on the holder....does this sound right?
