I am telling you that you should have everyone write nice messages to your postal carrier! It seemed to work Cheesy
18992  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Wild Beaded Dotee made from mostly old stuff! on: February 17, 2010 10:05:04 AM
For a swap extra, I made this doll/dotee for my wild and crazy partner...

She is made from old jewelry that I took apart, watch parts, brads, my failings at wire wrap ( Cheesy ), and lots of cuss words...

I found an old earring finding that had all of these cool loops on it that I turned upside down to attach her "hair" and give me a space to put in her face (which I received in a swap from koi)...

What a fun way to use up "junk"!

The quilts are on the smaller side--they recommend twin size batting and very thin batting!  no lofty or double loft--very thin---I am going to measure once I am done to see if it is more practical to buy a larger size so as not to waste...however, I use leftover batting to make other things...

ha ha --I just can't stand to machine quilt huge quilts--ugh--I have found a place that does it on a long arm quilter...small quilts, I will do myself, so I am happy with this project!!

funthreads--what did you use? You have way more experience than I do on this... Tongue

They even give you the easy peasy pattern!  I used it to cut out my second quilt--the quilt is all straight lines and I would recommend it to anyone who ever wanted to learn how to quilt because the instructions are fabulous and all the hard math stuff and color pics have been done for you!!!  YAY!!! 5 and counting!!!

I got butterflies! The colors were yellow, fuschia, purple and green!  I am adding my own sashing as I have never done a pillowcase style quilt...hee hee--I now know four Craftsters doing this charity! Maremare is the other mod who got me into this!  Such a great idea!

I think this challenge brought out the best in a lot of people! So many ideas and techniques were used...I would be proud to wear any of the pieces...I am humbled by the skill of the craftster jewelry artists!

I think your entry is a top contender...and no matter who wins the challenge, everyone who entered at least got a fabulous piece of jewelry to show off!!

I am glad that you are experimenting... I prefer your own original style --you are very talented and from the inchies and ATCs that you first did, I see a personal style developing--I love your gallery and I particularly love seeing your creative growth!

Although I am not personally fond of zetti, you did a great job...I love the locked away!
