One more project off my list:

cat carrier pads for my four cats...we have two single carriers and one double carrier so I made three pads...the backs are flannel and I lightly quilted them...no more throwing in a towel!  I think I will make some next year out of fleece because they all seem to love fleece! Cheesy

All the fabrics have cats on them...cheesy but fun!

sorry--I have been working with glitter and it apparently got all over my camera! 'tis the season...

I found some green thread so I am going to experiment...I might just get a yellow and a blue variegated and make it look like stripes..

ugh--I am going to see if I can get a better pic...

It is a ribbed ripple? Single crochet in the back loops...if i do what you say, will the holes at the peaks be different? Go the opposite way?  I guess I can just try it and see what it looks like...

I never thought about making it into a shawl!!  I need to see if it is too large or too small...I posted my dilemma in the crochet board...I have no idea if I can crochet on the bottom or starting row...it would mean I have to do the ripple opposite...would the holes at the points be weird?  Anyway, it is over on that board so I will see what our fabulous members can suggest!

It would be great if it can be a shawl--then she can have it for watching tv!!

My dear mother started a ripple afghan over 30 years ago using a variegated worsted weight yarn that is no longer available.

It is about 24 inches wide.

I know I can continue it on one side using perhaps a solid color picked out of the variegated, but I was wondering if it is possible to add to the other/starting row side?

I would like her work to be in the middle...I do not want to undo her work because she is 81 and no longer able to crochet so I want to keep it for me or one of the grandkids.

Is it possible to crochet "backwards" on a ripple--you can tell I am a newbie, but I do know how to do basic crochet... Cheesy

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

A friend suggested that I get two or three more skeins of similar variegated yarn that would coordinate and then make it look like a striped ripple...but I have no idea if that would just be ugly or look like a plan gone bad...

I like that idea a lot ysmeine!!  It allows for a lot of leeway!

Maybe it will help me to make my forever patchwork skirt...flowing in a nice spring (WARM) day...

Sadly, last night, my mother dug up an afghan that she had as a WIP 40 years ago!! It is half done in a lovely ribbed ripple pattern...the sadness is that she used to buy one of two skeins at the local Ben Franklin's when she had spare money....Ben Franklin is gone and the yarn is no longer available...I guess the lesson is to finish our WIPS!!

I am thinking of buying a solid green and using what she has already done as the middle of the afghan...I do not want to frog it as it is something she can no longer do...is it possible to work both sides in crochet?  With a ripple pattern I might have to do the stitches backwards? Oh dear...

Those are beautiful!  I imagine they did not make a huge den in all of those beads you have, but still, you got a lot done!!

Buying boxes to put goodies in can be expensive!  What a cute way to make your own!  I love the glitter and that you extended it to the recipes as well!
